Notes:
Formerly "Vermont Maple Stout"
We scoured the countryside of the Green Mountain State to find the perfect maple syrup companion to this rich barrel-aged imperial stout. Utilizing maple syrup sourced from our friends at Butternut Mountain Farm in Morrisville, Vermont, this stout is sticky and decadent, with a subtly sweet and big bold mouthfeel.

16 oz. can poured into a teku glass. 2019 vintage.
Dark brown, very thin lacing.
Nose: Roasted barley and maple. A touch of oak from the barrel.
Taste: Opens and finishes with maple. Sweet overall but manages to stay under control despite the heavy maple focus. Barrel presence is subtle at best - this Is truly all about the maple (which it does extremely well I should add).
Feel: Medium-boded, a touch on the light side given the abv - probably a good thing because if this was too full-bodied one might actually mistake it for maple syrup..

Poured from 16oz can into a tulip.
Appearance: entirely black with a thick finger of frothy brown foam atop. Very handsome indeed.
Smell: very sweet indeed. Plenty of maple comes through, along with little hints of chocolate and roast. I like it, but it's more "maple" than "stout".
Taste: sticky, boozy, sweet. Basically, what you expect from an American Imperial Stout. And American it is -- the maple really underlines its new-world nature. And it is good, especially for a dessert beer -- but it lacks complexity. So, tasty, but not as great as it might be.
Mouthfeel: big body with a moderate carbonation and underwhelming creaminess, considering its heft.
Overall: this is a dessert beer. It is in no way "crushable". But it is definitely a tasty treat, experienced in moderation.

Pours a nice rich black color with a tan head on top. The smell is of boozy maple syrup. The taste is sweet but not disgustingly sweet. Good flavors of wood subtle vanilla. The feel is silky smooth and finishes dry. Overall an outstanding beer.

The Vermont Sticky Maple is amazing!!!! I knew it would be when I picked up a crowler of it in October, and proceeded to wait until the end of March, following a reorganization of our 'Special Beer Fridge,' to try it. Full body from start to finish, the nose of sweet, sticky maple syrup is incredible, and it is smoo-oo-ooth! So Good! Notably, I have recently drank a number of dark beers from said special beer fridge (at least 15-20+ over the past 2 weeks), and this is one is my take away. This beer is the one I pine after. Please - If this is not already a year round beer, make it one! ...if possible, I understand that the maple syrup may be a seasonal item only. So good. So luscious! Thank you The Bruery, for making this beer!!!!

16 ounce can into a snifter. Had 11/22/19.
Pours a dark brown, thick looking and opaque, with a one inch foamy head and foamy lacing. Aromas of maple, vanilla, chocolate, malt, cocoa, caramel, marshmallow. Flavors of maple, malt, some bourbon, caramel, vanilla, some cocoa. Smooth, a very good full body, well carbonated.
Liked this. The maple is prevalent, but doesn’t dominate, and overall, it’s not overly sweet. Only criticism is that the barrels are too light. Worth a purchase.

Near black with a garnet hue. Two-and-a-half fingers of soupy, chocolate milk-colored head. Surprisingly strong retention for the ABV. Semi-webbed lacing is also stronger than expected.
Maple shows in the nose with some nice depth to the malt beneath it. Chocolate and light coffee notes are most prevalent in that element, but there’s also a hint of blueberry. I’m getting a touch of cinnamon, too, but it may be psychosomatic.
Chocolate and maple stand out first in the taste. I’m again getting a hint of fruit and cinnamon-like spiciness. A little tobacco, char and pine sap bitterness round out the finish, as well as a nice kiss of alcohol.
A little thicker than medium bodied, it feels a somewhat still until a little zip of carbonation breaks through a second later.
Great balance of the sweetness, darkness and bitterness in this. A real treat.
