Notes: Our signature Black Tuesday imperial stout is named in remembrance of the great stock market crash of 1929. So Happens It's Tuesday is a similarly bold yet slightly less aggressive bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout. Rich with notes of chocolate and oak, this stout is great for any day of the week. This limited edition treatment features additions of vanilla, cacao, cinnamon, cayenne peppers and lactose, resulting in a decadent beer full of rich, dark chocolate, with spices bringing the subtle heat one might expect to find in a traditional mole.

16 oz. can poured into a snifter.

Near black with a half inch tan head.

Nose: Quite a bit going on - milk chocolate, bourbon, and cinnamon are prominent along with caramel macchiato.

Taste: Strong bourbon and milk chocolate base with chili peppers and cinnamon building on it.

Feel: Full-bodied, thick, medium-low carbonation

Sweet, dark chocolate, hint of vanilla, hint of cinnamon, and pepper-spicy aromatics on this one! Taste follows with some cinnamon-chocolate notes upfront and then some heat from the cayenne spiciness AND the bourbon barrel. This is different and complex and it was fun trying to figure out the palate and nose! I was surprised, though, that this wasn't as viscous/decadent as I was expecting being 15% ABV. A little thin, but good!

The aroma starts with a hit of alcohol followed by cinnamon, vanilla, some dark brown sugar sweetness, a hint of dark dried fruits, and some cocoa powder. Really pleasant on the nose.

The taste is very sweet with cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate. There is a bit of an abv kick at the end of the sip along with a little picant note. Chocolate, Cinnamon, vanilla, and the bourbon sweetness are most pronounced.

The mouthfeel is chewy I’m with very mild carbonation and a bit of syrupiness.

This is one of the better imperial stouts from from the bruery imo. A great dessert after some tacos.

Poured from the can into a Bruery tulip glass.

Faint fleeting off mocha to tan colored head, with thin bubbles. A bit of snappy carbonation just slightly as it dissolves, to leaving barely a faint collared ring. Body color is classic stout darkness of nearly black, but seems to actually hint of red strangely to my eyes.

Real nice aroma. Hints of light smoke strangely and more classic barrel tones of wood and sap. Faint tangy hints of chili heat, giving to a green pepper like warmth. Real nice hinting dark chocolate as well in the mix, a sort of ganache thick liquid quality that's got only a hint of sweetness.

The palate hits real nicely. Excellent warmth and a quality of superb flavors. First sip hits a light brandy warmth of intense dark fruit, followed by excellent dark cacao nibs and light carob with a Mexicano angle. Some of the barrel notes and roundness seems a little washed away but the flavors still manage to come through real nicely. Light pepper heat, green like chili but with a soothing warmth that isn't harsh.

Love the chocolate and spices angle on this, it goes into plum and dark berried to grape fruity tones. Only the roundness and depth of the barrel is missing and I wish it translated more, but can't complain. Great stuff.

Look: deep dark brown, some cola highlights when held to light.
Smell: Mole for sure. Getting all those notes and the base stout strong enough to hold its own.
Taste: mole is less assertive, base beer owns this, and that’s good.
