2020 vintage. 750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Murky pink hued brown with a pinkish white head.

Nose: Tons of raspberry. There is a bit of cocoa that sneaks through but definitely dominated by raspberry.

Taste: I was expecting a painfully sweet raspberry bomb based on the nose, but this is actually a really balanced flavor profile. Raspberry still leads but the white chocolate comes out a lot more here and balances it out nicely. Really pleasant and unique beer. Finishes sweet but pretty balanced.

Feel: Very smooth, full body and medium low carbonation.

2020 Vintage

Appearance: Cloudy reddish amber color with a moderate sized light pink head that dissipated fairly quickly.

Smell: Upfront raspberry, mild Bourbon, and perhaps the slightest hint of vanilla, The beer's nose is dominated by the raspberries.

Taste: The prominent raspberry, moderate bourbon, and mild vanilla from the nose carry over to the taste. The bourbon and vanilla feature more prominently than in the nose. I can pick up mild chocolate notes as well. The beer is much drier than the base White Chocolate is and hides it's 13.1% ABV well.

Mouth-feel: Medium body with a fair level of carbonation.

Overall: An interesting White Chocolate variant. The raspberries dominate the nose and to a slightly lesser degree the taste profile. As the beers warms up closer to room temperature the raspberries presence subsides a bit to let the other flavors come through more.

750 mL into a snifter

A: Brew has a rusty brown appearance with a pink hue, not a lot of effervescence to speak of.

S: Layered bouquet, with distinct notes of chocolate, booze, berries. A little grassy, floral.

T/M: All the flavors of white chocolate - vanilla, carob, oak, bourbon-y sweetness - with an overlay of raspberry juice. The tart, acidic aspects works to add levity to the brew and makes it an easy sip.

I like this quite a bit, I think better than the original. Glad I saved a few to age.

750ml poured into a tulip.

Redish brown, opaque haze, with a medium white frothy head, which diminishes.

The nose is raspberry jam.

The flavor is dominated by raspberry, with subtle chocolate and vanilla in background, the finish dries up nicely.

The juicy feel works well here.

Nice to havve a raspberry beer that is not a sour. I would reclassify this as a fruit beer because of the raspberry's dominance. Regardless, I enjoyed it and will buy it again if they rebrew it.
