750ml bottle poured into a snifter. This one is 2017 release with Citra and Motueka hops.

Hazy bright golden yellow in color, the pour builds up very thick fluffy white head that stands with very good retention before slowly subsiding to a long-lasting bubble film atop and leaving lots of lacing patch and spot here and there.

Tropical and fruity hops lead through a nose with notes of citrus, passion fruit, lime, kiwi, grape, resin, and grass while there is an evidence of Belgian yeast with its ester of ripe pear, apple, and peach along with some peppery spice, just a little bit funk, and dryness.

The taste has some real bitterness from the hop profile while hop also provides its tropical and fruity flavors of citrus, passion fruit, lime, kiwi, grape, resin, and grass just like the aroma. Ripe and fresh pear, apple, peach, spiciness, slight funk, and dryness from yeast follow up closely. The end and aftertaste is left with some residual fruitiness and sweetness.

Medium body with super smooth mouthfeel and very soft effervescence from its active and quite lively carbonation, the feeling is crisp and refreshing from all the fruity characters while the finish is very dry that will quickly lead to the next sip.

Great Belgian Blonde Ale with a twist of American hop, it is quite hoppy with all those tropical and resin characters while Belgian yeast provides its unique blend. Alcohol is perfectly concealed.

10oz snifter on tap at THG.

A: Golden color, lightly hazy, with a thin cap of foam that faded into a fuzzy collar. Sheets of lace were left down the glass.
S: Sweet golden fruits, apple juice, and golden pear skins stand out. Earthy hop bitterness, kiss of citrus. Hints of crisp grains and doughy yeast poke through as well.
T: Follows the nose with sweet golden fruits followed by peppery Belgian yeast and earthy spice, light, earthy, and floral hop in the finish, with slight mint in the aftertaste. Bitter finish full of spice, woody almost spruce tip flavor, bitterness is slightly medical. Fruity throughout, sweet.
M: Fluffy and frothy ample carbonation that has a tingly bite to it but is overall fluffy and smooth. Smooth mouthfeel, spicy and sweet.
O: Not as dry as my favorite beers of the style, but very spicy, smooth and flavorful. Fruity throughout; easy to drink.

750 ml bottle.My special 39th birthday evening beer! Review : 7/21/2017

Poured into the classic Duvel glass.

Straw golden color with orange highlights. Hazy, bubbly. ..very jazzy. A thick but lively white foam top.

The aroma has a rather impressive, authentic, Belgian yeast-forward funk. Sweet, yet sour, fruity, earthy, tangy...if you can smell effervescent. ...this is it. Very bold, with wet earth, dry wheat field, sour grapes and herbs with pepper. Oh, slightly spicy in the nose as well. As the liquid warms in the heat of the late afternoon, dense and sweet fruity aroma's take shape from the hops.

The feel and flavor is surrounded by an outstanding golden effervescence. Big Earthy flavor's, dry, golden wheat, black pepper, spicy tones coupled with a very unique and Funky yeast complexity that is very high. Bonus points for an American brewer coming close to the authentic, complex funk from the yeast strain or strains. Slight hints of olives....like a dirty martini!! 8.5 % abv heat is a slight buzz, adds further depth and interest. The earthy, spicy and Funky sour fruits combo is very impressive. The hops also burst out with a very old world effect, earthy, herbal and spicy.

For the mouthfeel...man, it's as complex as the flavor. Effervescent is the key word. Bright, crisp, earhy - dry and snappy. Just awesome.

The yeast is very complex with multiple layers of earthy-sour funk. The malt is very light, bright and crisp, the hops bring a unique old world, earthy and tart edge to the party. All in all, just excellent execution in balance and chance. Big flavor's just jamming together effortlessly.

Picked up from BevMo in Woodland Hills. Poured into a Goblet glass.

Look: pours a beautiful golden yellow, about an inch and a half of white foam. Heavy lacing.
Smell: A lot of floral qualities, hints of lemongrass, coriander, and wheat. A really nice sweetness to accompany the funk.
Taste: Much more of the bitter, yeasty notes. More prominent coriander and wheat, with finishing bitter notes and an evident hoppiness.
Feel: Nice sharp carbonation, pretty light body but very crisp.

A really nice beer overall! Strong wheat and bitter notes, everything you want in a Belgian golden ale but with a great hoppiness to finish this one up. Another good one from the Bruery.

Light golden with a touch of haze and a weak soda fizzy head. A bit muddy towards the bottom of the bottle. Mossy funk and wet straw on the nose. Taste is of creamy wheat, warm coriander, and subtlety sweet Meyer lemon on the finish with a light dry vine vegetation. Rich and complex with sunflower seeds, blood orange, dry rice crackers, pears, honey and a salty finish. Superbly balanced. Big bold sweetness perfectly balanced with fruit and acidity just leaves you wanting more. Well done. I killed that 750ml easily. Not necessarily true to the Belgian style, but it's Californian, so don't expect Belgian.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a nice looking light copper color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Sliding messy lace.
The aroma had a super nice blend of grassy sweet features rolling over some swift sweet Belgian sugars, light bready/yeastiness, sly funk/maybe somewhat basement-like. Ended with a touch of alcohol tickle.
The flavor was moderately sweet pouncing on somewhat nicely grassy to funky to earthy quaint booziness. Light coriander just before the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good, perhaps a touch under but not burdensome. ABV felt fine despite smelling and even tasting some of it. This one actually felt right as projected.
Overall, really nice Belgian Strong Pale Ale that I would have again.

POUR: Bomber bottle into a goblet. APPEARANCE: Starts out with a nice and thick white head which reduces to a thin film after settling. Moderate glass lacing present. Hazy and golden in color. Lots of sediment present and suspended due to the unfiltered bottle conditioning. AROMA: Nice bready malt mix with Belgian yeasts. Some pear and white grape notes. Herbal and spicy. TASTE: Surprisingly lemony citrus. Light and acidic. Some honey and grassy elements as well. Dry body with pale malt. AFTERTASTE: More dry with white grape flavors. Some lingering spicy kick is present as well. NOTES: Well crafted and complex with a bunch of surprising flavor combinations throughout. REVIEW/RATING: Very Good/ 4.6 out of 5.
