Served from tap to tulip glass...reviewed from notes 06/05/2011

Pours a golden-orange, sudsy 2-inch head. Smells of spicy, raw leaf hops, lemongrass, alcohol. Backdrop of Brett-funk.

Lemon is first noticed on the palate, along with a touch of orange zest. Surprisingly citrusy. Horse-blanket meets musty, bready malts. Touch of alcohol, freshly crushed pepper. Crisp, earthy hops have a drying effect. Lemons carry through to finish with a touch of bitterness.

The brew is remarkably easy to drink, partly because of the light body. Given the powerful flavors I'd expect more weight on the palate, but it does add to the drinkability.

A- Mischief pours a very cloudy orange/ yellow color with a huge, fluffy, white head.

S- A little bit of hop aroma mainly focusing on citrus notes. A little bit of orange with a big blast of yeast as well.

T- Very, very smooth initially. Almost no hop bitterness at all. As I chew a little more, this beer yields some interesting vanilla like flavors. Quite nice actually.

M- Quintessential medium bodied beer. Very evenly displaced mouthfeel with a balanced carbonation.

O- Really enjoyed this beer. Its pretty complex and yet highly drinkable. I suppose that's why they call it "Mischief" and why they say on the bottle to "keep an eye out." This beer is very drinkable, has a well balanced flavor profile, and packs a nice punch at 8.5%. This is my first beer from The Bruery and I will certainly be trying more.

Serving type- 750ml bottle poured into a tulip glass, leaving the yeast behind (as instructed). Thanks for reading.
