750ml. Bottle at fridge temp poured into a snifter.

Pours a hazy bright orange golden color, cloudy. Huge billowy off of pour, white colored, lots of sticky lace as the head fades.

Phenolic spicy yeast, citrus hops, a bit of lemon, lemon grass, a bit of white grape. ripe crisp fruits.

Phenolic, spicey Belgian yeast, ripe citrus fruits, lemon, a bit of grapefruit, hint of pear juice. Finishes crisp with a spicey bitterness.

Medium body, ample carb.

Overall, pretty nice, similar to a Belgian iPa, Belgian pale.

A: Pours a cloudy gold into a Golden Monkey tulip. A huge fluffy white head spouts up notwithstanding a fairly gentle pour, but drops fairly quickly, leaving scattered lacing.

S: There's fruit (pears and perhaps some citrus) here, along with a big herbal blast, the promise of hops, some warming booziness and a hint of funk.

T: The taste pretty much matches the nose, although initially the herbs move to the fore and tend to dominate the other flavors. As it warms a bit, though, the other flavors resurface and right the ship: a relatively mild citrus hoppiness combines with pear notes and a slight dose of funk to make things interesting. It finishes very crisp.

M: Highly carbonated, and light in the mouth as a result. The relatively high ABV is not at all camouflaged, but isn't unwelcome and provides a nice warming sensation on a winter night.

D: High, particularly if you start off at the right temperature (which I did not). A nice, and interesting, American take on a Belgian classic.

750 ML bottle poured into a tulip. Originally reviewed 11/30/12

A - Golden colored and hazy. Big fluffy white head that leaves lots of lacing behind.

S - Flowery, earthy, and herbal hops is the strongest aroma. There's also some citrus and spice, maybe a hint of clove.

T - Slight citrusy flavor in the front that gives way to a light malt character and spicyness. A bit of bitterness in the finish.

M - High carbonation and medium to light body. Surprisingly easy drinking given the ABV.

O - Very enjoyable easy drinking golden ale.

poured a cloudy orange yellow with two fingers of head into a snifter. has a somewhat sour pineapple bready nose with that belgian funk to it

It tastes like it smells with a strong alcohol presence and big carbonation. Not a big fan and would not seek out again.
