750 ml bottle, 2022 edition, bottled 05/11/22. Served in a chalice the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, the brew smells like vanilla, cinnamon, cacao nibs, roasted malt, caramel and a bit of bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some dark chocolate fudge and dark bready flavors. The chocolate/cacao flavor stands out to me compared to the others. Barrel character could be stronger in this one, but it's still noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, probably would have been better when a little fresher but still recommended to those who like big pastry stouts!

Inky black with a finger of short lived foam. Smells of roasty malts, bourbon, dark chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon. The initial flavor is bourbon and dark chocolate. As it develops there are vanilla notes, finishing with cinnamon and an almost milk chocolate sweetness. Thick and fairly creamy. Dangerously tasty at its 15% ABV.

Abuelita’s Super Especial pours black, with a small tan head. The aroma is sweet, with lots of chocolate and cinnamon. The flavor is rich, and creamy, with some hints of cinnamon, but lots of creamy chocolate. Good feel. Overall, it is a nice doughnut beer, heavy on the chocolate.

 

 

 

 

Bottle pour- dark as night with short chocolate milk head leaving scant lacing and a ring of bubbles. Nose is dark roasty malt with a hint of sweetness. Taste follows with notes of chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. Slight alcohol warmth lingers on the finish.

Poured from a 750ml bottle at fridge temp. Pours pitch black with a little bit of brown head. The nose is wonderful. The nose is marshmallow, chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, banana bread.

The taste is fantastic. There are a lot of adjuncts in this beer, but it's done very nicely. Great integration. Cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, marshmallow, toffee, roasted malts, almonds, and an alcohol note. This is a big boozy beer.

Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Sweet, but definitely not too sweet. Great beer.

 

Look: Uber stout dark, some ruby/cola highlights when held to light. Sparse mocha head on the pour that almost entirely disappears.
Smell: rich dark chocolate notes, vanilla, hint of cinnamon.
Taste: like the nose, rich dark chocolate, a sweet roasty finish with the cinnamon and a slight bitterness.
