Yet another beer received from the ever-generous neorunner in the Blind Beers BIF. Per his recommendation, this one was poured into a snifter and reviewed completely blind.
Pours a murky copper color that shines in crimson when held to the light. A tiny head of light tan is super fizzy, bubbling like soda before disappearing within seconds and without a trace.
Fruity aroma, like dark cherries, green raisins and plums. Oak aging has imparted some nice vinous character, along with sweet vanilla, balsamic vinegar and perhaps some clove.
Tart lemons in the initial flavor, followed by the heavy woodiness of untoasted oak in the middle. Balsamic, cherry syrup, sweet maple and orange juice mix with lots of brett tartness. A dry finish seems to wipe the mouth clean, but this is reduced as beer warms. Tiny bit of ethanol.
Light and tickly carbonation. This thing's got a smooth medium body with impressive creaminess and is a pleasure to move around.
I had NO idea what beer this could be before I removed neorunner's covering, but it all makes sense now. The brett somewhat overpowers the other flavors in the beer, but you can pick up a bit of the yams and maple if you search for it. I can see this being excellent with white meat or a salad.

Brown appearance like the base beer with some lighter fall colors (yellow, orange) thrown in there. Off white, almost beige head 1/3". Aroma was yammy, brett like. Relatively clean.
Much better than the base version, this one has a small tinge of oak funk, earthen brett like notes. Of course there is still all the Thanksgiving base flavors from the yams and spice rack. A little viscous mouthfeel. Spices abundant. Carbonation keeps it lively and the fermentation, it is still viscous but doesn't sit as heavy of a mouthfeel.
Its a unique and interesting beer, but as for as my Tgiving beer, I'd prefer a headless heron from CW.

Since nobody has rated this in 2 years, I might as well.
Look: Dark amber, slightly cloudy without much head at all, nice lacing though.
Smell: Bright fruit and dark spices. It smells like a Bruery sour with an interesting "holidayness" to it.
Taste: This is where it gets interesting. Bright orange zest, light oaky funk, the spices shine through a bit giving it a very unique taste. I've never quite had something like this before.
Feel: At 10% you would expect some viscosity, and while it's not as thick as traditional Autumn Maple, it still has a bit of mouthfeel. Even though it has a slight viscosity, the sour kinda washes it out making it a bit more refreshing than normal.
Overall: This is a unique beer to say the least. I really enjoy regular Autumn Maple, so my rating may be a bit higher than others. It tastes like a lemon pie and a pumpkin pie had a delicious baby, that's the only way I can think of describing it.
To be fair, it gets you drunk quickly since it doesn't taste like it's 10%.

The brett has really come to the forefront on this one. Very much like regular Autumn Maple, but with a unique brett twist. Spicy, fruity and funky. I kinda like it.
