2013 consumed 2/2/17. Black with no head retention. Nose not as prominant as I thought but a great blend of booze and sweet roasted malt. Taste is boozy, and the sweet malts come together with hazelnuts. Would have held it longer next time.

A: Pours a thick, super dark brown
S: Bourbon up front, get the hazelnuts as well. A bit of oak with the booze
T: My favorite of the BT variants. Tons of Hazelnut and chocolate. Alcohol and bourbon add more layers of flavor
F: Extra viscous. Lingers
O: This is my favorite of the BT variants. The flavors really come together with the base to balance out how big a beer this is.

First time trying this beer, and at a local burger joint no less. I am not sure I get a lot of hazelnut in the beer (it could be the bbq burger or truffle fries), but it's one hell of a decadent beer. I appreciate that the Bruery's huge imperial stouts are a touch on the thin side. The beer is definitely boozy (a plus for me), but drinks more in the 12 to 14% range. Overall, Grey Monday is simply a fantastic beer.

A - Low head, dark brown and cloudy.

S - Sweet, prunes and malt.

T - Very malty and sweet. Flavor is incredibly strong.

M - A viscous feel without much burn from the alcohol.

O - Tons of flavor, strong smell, great beer.

An amazing beer. I had a fresh 2016 Grey Monday and had no problem finishing the whole thing. Boozy, brutal and not everyone but one for the chosen few... not to hot despite the 19.8% ABV.. if you get it, this hits all the right notes
