Poured at the Reserve Society 2nd Annual Barrel Tasting.

Appearance: black, pours no head and no lacing.

Smell: peanut butter, chocolate, roasted malt, bourbon, vanilla, a bit boozy, oak, leather.

Taste: peanut butter, chocolate, bourbon, sweet, oak, vanilla, roasted malt, boozy.

Mouthfeel: full bodied, minimal carbonation, boozy.

Overall: a great beer. Very complex, boozy, but not overly so considering the ABV. Tastes a lot like a peanut butter cup. Drinkability is high. A great experience.

Black liquid with very little carbonation yielding pretty much zero head. Aroma hit all those peanut butter and black tuesday notes, bourbon, chocolate, peanut butter, oak to a lesser degree.

Taste and mouthfeel is even better than black tuesday because the fatty peanut butter seems more adept at swallowing the massive abv. Lower carbonation makes for smoother experience, but not heavier.

I wish there was some way to make this into a bottle, or at the least, have it offered up on draft more frequent than it has been.

Black pour, pretty much lacking head, but its from a cask so its not a big deal. Aroma = black tuesday + peanut butter. For the sake of those who have never had BT: chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and wood.

Taste is pretty much straight up the aroma description. But it is better at hiding the big time alcohol than the base beer itself. A very smooth experience given the lack of carbonation, but this is one where you can truly believe it was not only made that way, but also intentionally as it allows so much of the flavor to resonate the entire time.

I would think would be a must try for any fan of Black Tuesday and peanut butter. Must have been unsalted PB because I couldn't taste that component of peanut butter.

You know what I did that was totally awesome? Mixed my pour of peanut butter & bals with a pour of chocolate rain, oh, that beer was a perfect 5 across all categories (except maybe appearance).

Drank at the barrel tasting party.

Went to The Bruery on Black Friday and got a glass on cask. Color was dark black as it came out, with shades of red as I examined thinner parts. The scent was extremely peanut buttery, but was a bit surprised with a chocolatey taste instead. The peanut butter came out with the aftertaste, it was just a bit confusing being caught off guard. It wasn't too heavy of a double, and hung around well. Definitely a good find.

On cask at the Bruery for Black Friday 2011,

A: Pours black with no head to speak of. Good colour.

S: Vanilla, chocolate, light notes of peanut butter but that aspect was not as overt as and adjunct as compared to Grey Monday and Chocolate Rain.

T: Rich dark chocolate flavour, the peanut butter comes in at the finish and works well, but never becomes a huge part of the beer. Tasty as usual as with the other BT derivatives.

M: Beyond full-bodied, rich, a feel in the mouth like good oloroso sherry. Big, no carbonation, but it doesn't need it.

O: Good stuff, much more like regular Black Tuesday than the other variations I've had. Certainly worth a try.

Had 2 tastings of this at the Reserve Society Barrel aged tasting event, session 1.

A: Poured from the cask into a Bruery taster glass, the beer pours a motor oil black, with just a razor thin ring of bubbles.

S: Peanut Butter Aroma is quite potent to me up front, and make me hungry for a PB & J sandwich. Also scents of chocolate, and vanilla.

T: Mirrors the nose, and the black Tuesday base really shines through, with flavors of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, and medium roasted malt. The Peanut butter added just a kiss of salt too, but it in NO way distracted or tasted salty really, anymore then unsalted peanuts are salty, if that makes any sense.

M: Some warmth, no carbonation to speak of really, and a medium to full viscosity.

O: Quite tasty, and just another great Black Tuesday variant. Tyler said they simply melted Peanut butter in for this, and it really comes through, in a tasty way.
