On tap at The Bruery in Placentia, CA.

Pours a hazy gold with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, herbal hop, and earthy ginger aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, ginger, and herbal flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium body mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but the ginger presence in this one is almost like pickled ginger used with sushi.

Big thanks to drabmuh for sharing this growler. Served in a Bruery tulip.

Pours a fairly-clear golden-yellow color with a good white head and a bit of ringy lacing as it falls to a collar. The nose carries some nice citrus and pine hop aromatics plus a faint whiff of spicy ginger in the background. I might have made the last part up, as those on this was pretty similar to regular Humulus Lager. The flavor was relatively similar, though the ginger did add a touch of spice through the finish, which paired nicely with the bitterness. Glad to have tried this one. Hopefully I can try a few other Humulus variants at some point in the future.

Poured from a growler into a Bruery tulip. I waffled back and forth whether or not this was different enough to add but when I noticed that there were already different Humulus Lager entries that only varied by a hop I decided it was fair game, if I am in error please send me a message.

Beer is yellow / amber and clear with a white head of small and medium bubbles, nice moderate carbonation, good retention, some lacing, looks bright white and clear. Awesome.

Aroma is earthy, piny, hoppy, mild yeast character, only a very mild spice from the ginger in the nose, mostly smells like Humulus Lager which is to say is smells really good.

Beer is medium in body, a little sweet but the malt is thin, late spiciness and a moderate bitterness. A little piny on the hop palate but this beer is as amazing as I remembered. The ginger is subtle but the base beer is so good it doesn't need much and it is hard to improve on.
