750ml bottle into a 25cl Duvel tulip. Thanks Dan!

A: Cloudy pale gold body with some off-white froth. Uninspired.

S: Overripe cherry, funky wet hay, uric acid, and must. I like the weirdness, but frankly it's unappealing.

T: Lemony tartness up front (nice), rotten fruit midway through (terrible), and dry sour oak on the finish (quite good). Muddled and mediocre, but clean enough on the aftertaste.

M: Medium body, light carbonation. Meh.

O: What a disappointment. Just interesting enough to be drinkable, but an embarrassment compared to pretty much any authentic Geuze.

Cheers!

2015 vintage. Nice initial head leaving ring until done. Smells very funky with that unmistakable Brussels yeast nose. Taste is very sour and earthy, somewhat sweat with dry finish.

Spot on for style and by far the best US Gueuze I've had. Better then many Belguin brands. Worth getting.

poured 750ml bottle into Teku. 2014 Vintage.

A - Darker shade of gold with a soft white 2 finger head. Fades into thin ring with minimal lacing. Looks enchanting.

S - Starts off with a tart and sour aroma. Fresh lemon juice, green plum, and sour grapes. Funk is light and there is a slight woody character.

T - Huge bright tartness that is bordering on sour. Lemons. green plum, and sour grapes. I detect faint funk and some wood, even a bit of vanilla.

M - Light crisp finish with mouth puckering sourness. Carbonation is perfect and the finish is slightly dry.

O - Pretty tasty Gueuze style that is readily available in many places that helps make the price easier to deal with.

Big funk, fruit, and acid. Overripe tropical fruit. Pear, pineapple. Wet wood and hay. Slightly cheesy, lots of barnyard. Grassy. Tons going on. Definitely authentic smelling.

The palate is aggressively acidic. Definitely acetic acid is present. Not as pleasant as I'd hoped. However, it's not over the top with acetic acid. There's definitely plenty of fruit on the palate, and juicy lactic acid as well. I may be trying to justify me spending the money on this one. There is an interesting salinity on the finish.

Light body, high carbonation. Sharp and almost tannic. Oak is apparent.

I want to like this more. While it is closer to a proper gueuze than many American efforts, it doesn't quite have the finesse I enjoy in the style.
