The beer pours a very light and white bubbly head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a clear medium gold. In fact, with the carbonation, it almost looks like a gold sparkling.

The beer smell is both fruity and funky. The fruit notes are sweet, not artificially sweet, and resemble strawberry, a bit of peach, and slight raspberry notes. The smell is also very tarty and resembles more cherry tartness than granny smith tartness. The beer also has a musty, earthy funk smell mixing with the other notes as well. The note is pretty earthy and contrasts well with the sweeter notes while complementing the tart notes very well. At colder temps, the beer has a slight whiff of vanilla from the barrels.

The beer taste is fairly tart and acidic. The tart taste is more granny smith than cherry but also a citrus note that appears to have lemon and grapefruit notes. The funk is still in thee but it's a bit more subtle and gets lost in the other notes. The funk imparts the same earthiness and must notes from the smell. The lingering aftertaste is a bit tarty with some sweet fruit flavor. There is also a slight vanilla flavor.

The beer is medium bodied with a nice crisp feel from the carbonation. The beer is smooth with a dry finish.

Overall, a pretty good beer and worth having at least once. The beer is a bit tarty and may not be for everyone, but this is definitely a must have for tart fans. I've never had a gueuze before the style seems to be pretty good and I'm glad The Bruery is taking chances with old and rare styles such as this.

Light musty funk with big tart character in aroma.

Flavor is very citric and lactic, pretty tart! Definitely not a starter sour. Barrel doesn't overwhelm.

Cloudy orange-yellow, thin bubbly head. Aroma of acidic lemon, sourdough, dirty funk. Taste followed the nose pretty much, lemon, grapefruit rind, yogurt, malt vinegar, oak, Sprite, moderately sour, but more in an acetic way. I don't know, just kind of messy and unbalanced.
