Notes / Commercial Description:
Beauregarde is our first ever use of blueberries and we couldn't be happier with how this beer turned out. We added an incredible amount of fruit to our barrel aged, sour blonde ale and the result is just as expected. A lovely shade of reddish purple with flavors of tart blueberries, just in time for summer. Perfect along side a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream.

Pours a clear red to purple, almost cranberry juice like. Minimal head that disappears quickly. Nose is sour. Sour berries, raspberries, blueberries and cranberry. Taste sour up front then fades and let's the blueberries come through. A bit of light yogurt in there as well. Very dry and crisp. It begs you to take another sip on the never ending quest to quench your thirst but guess what? That isn't going to happen because this baby is dry! Very very dry. Light bodied, juice like. I dig it

L - Pours a purple amber body with a half finger eggshell head.

S - Just a whirlwind of oak, blueberries and sour.

T - Really nice. Sour along with blueberries and oak. Follows the nose.

F - Light bodied and medium prickly carbonation.

O - I can't believe this hasn't been brewed again! A great balance between the sour and blueberries. A must try from The Bruery!

Light purple color with a decent head. A bit murky and turbid. Some definite yeast mixed in. A light blueberry aroma with some hint of vanilla and oak. Same profile as a flavor but more tart. Drinks fairly easy. This beer has held up well. I imagine it's more blueberry forward when fresh but the age has given a light sweet and sour beer. Well done.
