The Strip had finally beaten me into submission. Neon fatigue. Slot-machine tinnitus. The psychic damage of watching grown adults clap at nothing. I wandered south like a confused desert animal, looking for anything that didn’t blink, beep, or demand I mortgage my soul for a vodka Red Bull.

That’s when I found Khoury’s.

Or maybe it found me.

From the outside it looked like a liquor store. From the inside it looked like a liquor store that had been possessed by a public library. Shelves rose up like bookcases. Rows and rows of bottles stood at attention, spines facing out, daring you to read them. For a moment I genuinely questioned whether I’d wandered into some kind of Nevada prohibition-era trap where they disguise bars as bookstores and arrest you once you order a saison.

The air was quiet. Suspiciously quiet. No thumping bass. No LED seizures. Just the soft hum of refrigeration and the low murmur of people who knew exactly why they were there. This was not a tourist place. This was a place for people who had seen things.

Then I noticed the taps.

Or maybe I imagined them.

There was a taplist. I swear there was a taplist. It loomed somewhere between the shelves like a chalkboard apparition, beckoning me forward. In my mind I immediately began doing the math. I could crush half of this. Easy. A flight. Maybe two. Maybe all of it if the night went sideways enough.

But the longer I stood there, the more the shelves seemed to close in, like a Borges short story soaked in hops. Were those taps real, or were they just book titles written in ABV and IBU? Had I been staring at spines the whole time, confusing authors for breweries? Was “Barrel Aged Something Something” a stout, or a 700-page Russian novel I was about to pretend I’d read?

No one stopped me. No one corrected me. Which only deepened the madness.

I ordered a beer. It arrived. That confirmed at least part of reality. It was good. Clean. Intentional. The kind of beer that reminds you there’s a whole universe beyond hazy gimmicks and casino slop. I drank it slowly, scanning the room for clues. The cooler along the wall was stacked with treasures. Belgian ghosts. West Coast legends. Bottles that don’t survive long in lesser hands. This was the real archive. Cold storage for the faithful.

At some point I entertained the idea of blacking out here among the shelves. Falling asleep between saisons and barleywines like a drunk monk in exile. Waking up to discover I’d been gently escorted out with a bookmark tucked into my pocket and a receipt that read like a syllabus.

Instead, I finished my beer and stood there for a long moment, trying to decide whether I’d just been to a taproom, a liquor store, or a very aggressive hallucination.

On my way out I grabbed a few cans from the cooler, just in case the whole place vanished behind me like a mirage. Proof. Evidence. Something to anchor me when the Strip inevitably swallowed me again.

I stepped back into the Vegas night unsure of anything except this:
Whether the taplist was real or imagined, the beer was excellent.
And sometimes that’s all the truth you need.

Latest Visit 6/26/25 (Las Vegas Nevada): Las Vegas’ best liquor store. Great selection of local, regional, national and international beers properly refrigerated. Also serves a dozen plus draft taps with indoor and outdoor seating, and food trucks at select times.

Vibe: Modern store, great craft beer selections plus wine and spirits. Staff cool, customers are chill. 4.0

Quality: Top Nevada, California and regional beer brands. 4.5

Service: Staff have been pleasant, knowledgeable about craft beer, and attentive. 4.75

Selection: The best selection I’ve seen in the Vegas Valley at fair prices. 4.5

Overall: I love stocking up when in Vegas, and love to hit Khourey’s to find the freshest best to go beers, and interesting taps if there is time for a pint or two. Highly recommend.

Stopped by on my way from the Strip to Hoover Dam. Very welcoming staff, and there are beers on tap one can sample while shopping. Very good, curated selections of craft and imports, both in coolers and on the warm shelves. Many options for picking out singles. If one is out Henderson way, this store is a recommended stop for shopping. Shared parking lot outside.

Very interesting bottle shop/ tasting room in back of strip shopping center. Small high-end beer selection, with plenty of less readily available beers in stock. A dozen beers on tap. Friendly helpful service.

I have visited Khoury's twice while in Vegas on business. It has a clean, modern feel with beer, wine, liquor and even a few craft beers on tap. The owner and other employees I've interacted with are all friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They are eager to make recommendations and discuss options with you.

The craft beer section consists of a long set of coolers and a large shelf unit; while not immense, the selection is wide and extremely well "curated". They seem to concentrate on regional US beers but also have a good selection of Belgian brewers and a smattering of other nationalities. Traffic is high and the beers seem fresh and well-handled. Prices are fair. Vegas alcohol prices can be fairly high but this shop is no worse than others and better than most. I saw a few CA beers in here that were cheaper than in their home state.

You can enjoy a draught beer while you shop or sit at one of their tables and sip what you just bought. They also do special events with brewers and breweries, such as new release tappings and bottle releases. They even have collaborated with breweries to release special Khoury's anniversary beers.

This is a great beer shop that would be notable anywhere, but especially in Las Vegas, which is primarily a craft beer-challenged city.

Nice store. Nice guy running it too. Low key and interacted at a nice pace. Was knowledgeable. Gently pushed local beers (can't blame him) and offered suggestions for bars with decent beers near where I was staying. Appreciated.
Selection was good for the area. Had what a appears to be a tap only offering from Modern Times which was very good. $6 for 16oz pour.
Picked up stuff I wanted and prices seemed on par for my expectations.

Easily the best place in Vegas if you're searching for craft brews. The stuff is helpful, and the owner is heavily invested in ensuring the quality of service.

Is it as good as what you'll find in other major markets? No. Nevada doesn't have the greatest distribution that you'll find. However, it will take care of you in your Vegas adventures, and might surprise you with some of the selection.

The wife and I were flying out of McCarran after an intense week of road-trippin' through deserts, mountains, beaches and sprawling Western cities.

We had a little time to kill before our flight, so I looked up a good beer store here on BA and found Khoury's, pretty close to the airport.

We got there right at the 8pm closing time so I was able to try only one beer at the bar. Yes, they have a bar inside the store, with tables outside if you feel like sweating up your beer in the desert heat.

Their selection of everything is top-notch. Amazing Scotchs, tequilas, bourbons... and of course beer:

Local Option, Ballast Point, tons of Stone, Cascade, Deschutes (rare stuff like Jubilee), Green Flash Cellar 3, Bruery and a healthy amount of local Las Vegas/Nevada beer like Tenaya, Cismontane, Joseph James... also some cool bottles from Almanac, Oceanside and lots of Belgians.

Prices ain't bad at all! How about a 4-pack of Ten Fidy for $13.99? Super friendly staff as well. Will definitely revisit next time I'm in LAS!

Best beer shop that I have found in Las Vegas. Very friendly staff. They had several beers on tap and allowed me to a have a beer while I browsed theIr selection. Well rounded selection of local brewer's and good selection of regional beers. Worth the trip off the strip. Better than what you will find in most of the hotels and at a Much better price than what you will find at the hotels.

This is a little small beer and wine store on the south side of town. They have a beer night Wednesdays starting at 8 I believe, where they do bottle shares, and of course they have a handful of rotating special beers on tap. Best little fun place to find good different beers, although the selection is small, but that's what you expect at a small shop like this. The owner and the next main worker their know there beer and are glad to help you find something. They are a pleasure to talk to, and I suggest anyone in this area should stop by for some good beer, even if you're not sure what you want.
