Atlas India Pale Ale is an ale with strength and character worthy of its name. Pale and caramel maltings of American two-row barley give Atlas IPA a malty backbone to support its noticeable, but not overpowering, hoppy flavor and aroma. Columbus, Amarillo, and Cascade hops are harmoniously blended together, bringing about floral and earthy tones which highlight this bold but delicious ale.

$9.49 USD plus tax per sixer at a shitty liquor store in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
6.5% ABV.
Has a 2-row malt & caramalt-driven backbone. Heavy honeyed malt collides with its rough-around-the-edges hop profile driven by dirty citrus, old hop resin, perfumey hop oils, and classic C-hop floral flavour.
I suspect my bottle is old (having sat around tepid at abovementioned shitty liquor store), but it's not a bad beer, bringing enough Amarillo resinous character to keep me interested (Amarillo is my favourite hop).
Still, I can't say it's well balanced or built in comparison even to widely distributed expressions of the style (think Lagunitas, Deschutes, Sierra Nevada, Alaska, Bell's, et al.) and it has the hop pungency of a pale ale, not an IPA.

Smell has a touch of sour malt, alcohol is hidden well, very malty taste.

I believe this is my first Oklahoman beer, definitely a life-changing experience and milestone. Sorry if you're from OK. I paid too much for this in the Tulsa Airport (because I was in an airport). A very average profile IPA, but quite good. Guaranteed I'd drink this if I lived in the area. Again, standard profiles in the smell and taste.

Hazy copper color, little head, and minimal spotty lacing.
Smell is very malt forward with caramel and heavy barley. Light herbal and earthy hop notes.
It is a very malty ipa, but has a nice bitter bite. Caramel and brown sugar, herbal and earthy.
Full bodied, kind of chewy. Dry finish.
A very average ipa, but enjoyable.

Too malty to be called an IPA, and missing that hoppy punch in the palate that I seek. Still better than a macro. Worth having one if you're in Tulsa - do your part for the local economy.
