Stella Artois....

Appearance: Green bottle, I like the paper on the neck. In the glass it's a pale straw gold, I had about a 3 finger head, which faded as I drank it. Mild lacing. carbonation is pretty on point.

Aroma: Kind of skunky. I smell something floral in it too, might be the hops. It smells like a summer afternoon or a spring evening.

Taste: As you take the lager in your mouth it's cool with kind of a snap. The carbonation hits you tongue and it's kind of bitter. the back of the tongue gets a burst of fruity sweetness as you swallow, and the alcohol flavor comes back as you breath out.

Drinkability: it's ok.... nothing amazing. It's kind of unpleasant in ways, but ok in others. It's a very light lager, good for summer afternoons and reading.

Overall: it's ok.

I was told once "never low down yourself drinking a wife beater..."

Anyway I drank it, several times, and wasn't beaten ..

I liked the flavour, it is quite original beer, seemed to me that it had green vegetables.

It was good the sensation after drinking it, I got a dizzy as I'm very thin.

I would really repeat although I don't remember to have got specially aggressive after drinking it ... not sure if this brand "deserves" that fame.. anyway, that would be infamous for them.

I hope to beat some man somehow next time I'll drink it.

Look: clear yellow. Decent size head and lacing.
Smell: crisp, subtle bready malts with a bit of fruity hops.
Taste: again, crisp malt and a bit of Apple. Not near as mediocre for me as the current BA score would indicate.

Yup, it looks like beer. Not much head.

Smells a little sweet.

Delivers a little sweet to the palate, then quickly morphs into mildly skunky lightly hop taste.

I nothing derogatory to say about the feel, but no praise either.

Unoffensive, in a good way. Tastes like an improved Bud Light. This would probably be a great session beer, deep-drinking and party beer. I would muh rather serve this than Bud Light or comparable macros. Very drinkable, Fancy, champagn-like packaging, a French-sounding name, what'snot to like here?

Check out user LennyOvies review. He has a much more sensitive palate than mine and does a much better job explaining the fine notes for people who have FAN-SAY palates.

T: sweet and skunky with a slight hop bitterness
F: watery and thin

Quite good looking. Pale gold with an impressive head and lacing. Light grain sweetness and mild floral hops. I'm guessing a noble variety. Mild honey like sweetness with a light grain presence. Light floral hops with mild Saaz bite. Crisp light feel with a somewhat fizzy but refreshing carbonation. I remember drinking this in the UK 30users ago. It was so good then. It's suffered at the hands of Interbrew but surprisingly still a decent beer especially on a hot summer day.

11.2 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a pokal glass

This beer pours golden and clear. It is topped with three inches of fluffy, white head that leaves rings of lacing as I drink it.

It has a sweet, grassy aroma. It is a little skunked as I expect with green bottles.

The taste matches the smell. It starts out sweet. Then I get some grassy notes and a little skunked flavor in the finish.

It has a little more body than American adjuncts.

I am not a fan of this beer, but it is better than Heineken.

Don't know about the look, I drink it out of the bottle. I didn't like the smell, taste or feel. One sip was enough for me. I thought it tasted horrible.

L- The strong aspect of this beer because of the head. Body is a light golden color with good amount of visible carbonation. The head is big, fluffy, white, tight and veeery long lasting. Looks great.
S- The aroma has bread, lemon, spices and sweet corn. The good thing is that the aroma is fairly strong.
T- Like a washed out belgian blonde. Bread, spices, grainy malts, corn. But everything is weak.
F- Watery, a bit fizzy.
O- Just ok, much better than the common BMCs but still far away from good craft.

quite a good looking beer. sparking golden color, tight white head that leaves nice lace on the glass. nose is sweet corn, grainy malt. very skunky taste - grainy sweetness a bit much a times. thought the feel was decent - a marginal improvement on the super watery adjuncts from the US. overall refreshing and somewhat enjoyable, although there are plenty of beers that are both enjoyable and refreshing and have the added benefit of offering an interesting flavor. If your drinking beer just to get drunk, maybe this would be an ok option, but for the rest of us who drink beer mainly for its flavor ... no good reason to purchase this.

11.2 FL oz can condition - 12 pack $17.85

Pours a clear yellow with large head and consistent lacing throughout the drink. Smells of euro skunk with more malt than anything. The euro skunk flavour becomes the main taste, followed by a bit of sweetness and a malty smooth finish. There is large bit of carbonation, subtle upfront, but really hits in the finish - leaving a syrupy hoppy flavour in the end. Sessionable and average at best and on par with Heineken - its neighbouring country's most known lager.

I bought a couple of their holiday gift packs on clearance at Lukas Liquor in Kansas City... a bargain at just $3.99 for a 750ml bottle and a very nice holiday glass printed with gold streamers and stars. This is sure to become my New Year's Eve beer glass! Very festive! Since it was packaged in an opaque box, I avoided the dreaded "green bottle" skunking.

Poured a clear, bright straw color with fine carbonation and a decent white head. Aroma is of mild grain and not much else. Taste is lightly sweet grain and just a hint of hops. Light mouthfeel with lovely carbonation. This is a really easy-drinking beer.

This is really not a bad beer... but it's not a really great beer, either. I'd say it's a step up from most light American or Euro lagers. But, when I buy a Belgian import beer, I usually expect much more in terms of flavor! And, this is not what I have in mind!

Bottle to glass.

AROMA Hops, Beer
LOOK: Light Yellow, Pilsner.
TASTE: Crisp light beer. Easy to drink with a meal.
A notch above the typical American Pilsner.

part of a flight at champs sports bar in altoona pa. freely admit that i only ordered this because i dont have a euro pale lager on my BA list and its been bugging me. but i'll try and be objective.

pours a pale not really any color body with a white head. carbonation is good, leaves some lacing.

just a faint grainy smell

taste is light, inoffensive, but to be honest, this doesnt taste like much of anything.

feel is like slightly foamy water.

overall, not something i would order. doesnt taste bad per se, but really doesnt taste of anything. the nicest thing i can say is that it would be a good palate cleanser between beers. sorry.

Per capita, Belgium has a huge number of excellent breweries: Chimay, Cantillon, Duvel, Rochefort, etc. But sadly, the beer they export the most is crappy Stella Artois (Belgium's don't drink it much themselves). It's nicely carbonated, but really, just get Heineken.

Look: Pours a completely translucent straw hue with a half finger, white colored head.

Smell: Nothing really. Just the faintest notion of grassy hops and apples.

Taste: I'm getting almost nothing as for flavor too. Upfront very very slightly sweet. Watery. Finishes with a grassy, sour apple funk. I'll admit it's a very inoffensive taste akin to sweetened water - but I don't necessarily consider "lack flavor" a positive attribute.

Feel: Thin and undercarbonated.

Overall: Very bland and boring. It almost tastes like nothing at all. I used to think this was one of the most prestigious and delicious beers in the world when I wasn't into craft beer.

Looking back, I understand now the only reason I used to buy this is because it tastes slightly less terrible than everything else mainstream beer has to offer.

Had this on draft recently, and afterwards bought a 6 pack. The 6 pack was a tad bit skunky, but not too bad. Here's my review of this euro pale lager.

L- On draft this beer didn't look that special, light golden color, thin soapy head, little to no lacing. From the 6 pack, I poured the bottle into a 16 oz. pilsner glass and it looked much better. Still has a light golden yellow color, 2 finger bright white head that stuck around awhile, small thin head that lasted throughout. Some nice lacing on glass, good carbonation.
S- Malt with a wet grain type smell. Lighter smelling than Heineken, nothing that stands out really. 12 oz. bottle was a little skunky at first, but faded after awhile.
T- On draft this tasted almost like an adjunct lager, but from the bottle it has a nice crisp euro lager flavor. Sweet malt, with a faint touch of hops. Really enjoyed this from the bottle, draft was ok.
F- Excellent light mouthfeel. Crisp, refreshing, and a nice light to medium body.
O- On draft this was just ok, pretty flat tasting, but still better than any of the light beers they had. Out of the bottle, I really enjoyed this. The look was nice, taste was not as heavy or strong as Heineken. Very crisp and refreshing beer. I would recommend this to anyone interested in euro pale lagers, or if your looking for a good summer beer, this would be a great choice!

Does what I expect a mass-produced, mainstream lager, or any lager, for that matter, to do and that's be crisp, refreshing, with a nice and consistent mouthfeel and a pleasant amount of bitterness to compliment. Can see this being like Miller High Life for me, where it goes down so easy that, before I know it, I've drank four bottles.

Also see this being a huge stepup from other similar category beers like Grolsch and Heineken, which are usually disturbed by skunkiness.

At least it doesn't have the skunky smell and taste that some lagers have like Heineken. Looks like a lager, not much head or lace. Light carbonation and mouth feel. I just don't care for lagers but this is at least drinkable. It was a gift, I would never buy it.

Where is the beer? A little taste, but too much alcohol for a short beer. This is a product I do not understand how you say beer, soda would say with a slight taste of beer.

a great refreshing beer. It has a good head and the smell of any other mass produced lager. The beer is a off golden yellow color, but nonetheless it tastes great on a hot day.

Besides Budweiser, this is also my go to beer. I love wheat beer better than ale, because it doesn't really have the bitterness than ale does. Really good foams with crispy tasting.

Washing up looking head.

Aroma is good for a commercial lager.

Taste has a good balance of different elements. Great contrast between bitterness, sweetness, fruitiness. However there is a bit of a unpure taste happenning.

Much better than Carsberg.
