3.59/5  rDev +14.3%
look: 3.75 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours a clear, slightly golden color with a mild foamy head. SRM of 8. (3.75)

Aroma: Mild aromas of light, pale malts with a slight orange and breadiness. (3.50)

Flavor: Flavor is mild and of smooth, light pale malts with some honey, orange spice & cracker malts. (3.50)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Lower carbonation. Feels rather milky on the palate.

Compared to the original Stella Artois Lager 7/25/20: Pours a slightly darker color. The flavor is more pale, smooth malt. Less crisp hops, but only slightly. Rather similar. Similar body, but more smooth on the palate.
5/13/21: Pours slightly darker. Milder aromas/flavors. More smooth malts.

Overall: A very average lager. Medium-bodied. Mild flavors. Malt-focused with a slight bread and orange spice. Medium to strong carbonation. Nothing extraordinary here. I would rate this pretty average, and I'll drink it, but definitely not worth seeking out, other than the fact that it has 105 calories. (Final Rating: 3.65)

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours golden yellow with a small white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of sweet cereal grain. Tastes of thin cereal grain, but not as thin as most lagers, but with just a tad of honey. Beer is light bodied and very easy drinking, good carbonation, but a little thin. Overall, an average beer.

Look: Pale gold appearance. Drank out of the bottle so can't comment on the head or lacing.

Smell: Not much here, simply a light, fleeting citrus scent.

Taste: Extremely sharp, harsh, and had to pour out after a couple sips. The citrus scent was not followed through in the taste for me.

Feel: Medium carbonation, overall light mouth feel.

Overall: Absolutely terrible. Unfortunately, I had to pour this out after the first couple sips. A hard pass for me.

Good tasting beer. I read that is a Belgium beer and brewed there. However, on the bottle in very fine print, it says that it's brewed in the U.S.A.

Stella Artois Solstice Lager has a thick, off-white head, a clear, bubbly gold appearance, with no lacing. The aroma is of lemon and white bread. There is a similar taste, with no bitterness. Stella Artois Solstice Lager has a light body and a crisp finish.

Happy Solstice Day! Also known as the Shortest Day of the Year, today marks the beginning of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere. I do not hate winter, per se, but neither is it my most favorite season, either. That designation is reserved for the one that JUST ended! 8=( I also have a favorite, in-person trader - @tone77 who recently dropped this off for me, along with some other Bottles (eek!) & CANned beers. I set this one aside especially for today.

From the Bottle (oh!): "Summer Limited Edition"; "Premium Golden Lager"; "Stella Artois Solstice Lager"; "Anno 1366".

So what if it was intended for the Summer Solstice? I could use a little liquid sunshine on this dreary, foggy morning! I was pleasantly surprised when I had to Pop! the cap as I expected a screwed-up screw-top. It was neither pleasant nor really a surprise when, during my pour, it simply evinced a rolling, roiling finger of fizzy, eggshell-white head that quickly dissipated into wisps. This, despite all of the carbonation bubbles in evidence. 8=( OTOH, the color was that of solid Gold (SRM = 5) with NE-quality clarity & so I was visited by the auric triumvirate known as The Gelt Gang!

Mammon, Midas & Croesus have long been my equivalent of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present & Future, dropping by to save me from the Cyberpeople & later frequent guests to watch any televised sports in which a team wore gold. As such, they align with me as Pittsburgh sports fans, but include Iowa for college & the LV Golden Knights (as long as they are not playing the Pens). They may squabble amongst themselves about "Dibs!", but they & I all generally get along nicely. But, I digress ...

Nose had an odd grape-y vinousness as well as a cereal-like sweetness. I like what one reviewer said about Cheeri-Os, which were one of my late-Pops' faves, the other being Wheaties. No Wheaties in this one, but definitely Cheeri-Os! Hmm. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on par for a high-end Lager. The taste was very cereal-like, not unpleasant, per se, but different. It was sweetish without falling into the cloyingly sweet trap that always puts me off. Finish was semi-sweet & while refreshing, it might have been better on 21 June 2020 here in hot, humid Lancaster, PA. Oh well. Perhaps there's next year ... YMMV.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle dated 05NOV2020, tasted 5 July 2020:

Pours a clear gold with a head that pretty much disappears as soon as it appears. Carbonation bubbles are strong and visible. First looks are not impressive - looks like just another boring pale lager.

Smell - mostly corn with a bit of spices and hops too.

Taste starts off with malt and corn, which gives way to sweet and citrus, as well as some hops. Hops were a bit more pronounced than I expected but I liked the bright character it brought.

Feel - best part of this brew for me. Crisp, light, and refreshing. Corny malt doesn’t linger on the tongue like with some lagers. Carbonation is strong and lifts the brew.

Overall, it has its strengths and weaknesses, but it is good. Stands out a bit for the style, and makes today’s 108 degrees F heat index a little less terrible.

This beer is terrible. It’s like they took Budweiser and packaged it in an ugly clear bottle. Nothing but sweet corn. Nothing crisp or refreshing about it. I normally drink hoppy beers, but once in a while I like to grab a lager or a Pilsner. Stella is an average beer so I expected something as decent or better, but this is the epitome of crap.

I’m blown away by all these decent reviews. It’s so bad.
