Bottle from Cora-Forbach. Sweet and woody, cola comes to mind. Dark brown and consistency of cola to boot.Taste has elements of oak barrel and peat, typical scotch style

Appearance: Dark chestnut body; no head

Aroma: Oaky; mellow; sweet; dried fruit; sherry-like

Taste: Nutty; bitter; dry; very much like a dark stout, but not much flavor profile

Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; so please disregard those scores

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a reddish-brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is full of sweet toffee malt, as well as some peat malt and dark fruit. The flavor is similar. There is a lot of sweet malt, as well as some dark cherry notes, alcohol and some grain. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Brown specific Scottish style. Nose quite low, with little personality. The taste is slightly sweet in the first approach but it is still watery.

Remains on this side a little rough and roasted malt continuing to raise a little sauce. Certainly, compared to other tape, such as the Campbell's, there is no abundance of sugar and it is closer to the Scottish model.

But hey, it's not to say that it is a good beer, far from it.

A: Chocolate brown colour, thick creamy light-brown head

S: smells a bit like chouffe coffee, sweet, burned grains, and alcohol

T: fairly sweet a bit like rock candy syrup,, with a hint of something burned maybe witloof (apparently that's also English), a bit single sided, to be honest

M: Too thin for a scotch, carbonation levels don't really feel right either.

O: It's drinkable, nothing objectionable in it but nothing more

One of a four pack, 25cl brown bottle, best before 9 Nov 2011, drank on 28 Apr 2011.

Poured into a Gordon 'Finest Gold' thistle shapped glass.

Deep, dark ruby red body (almost cola colour), clear when held up to a strong light source (without the cola bubbles). An off-white foaming, fading head sat on top.

The smell and taste were of roasted/toasted molasses, sweet and not a lot of anything else.

The mouthfeel was fairly thin for this style of beer, certainly not rich or creamy and where have they hidden the 7.2% ABV? I couldn't detect any evidence of it anywhere.

Not a great beer, but not awful either, prefer many others in this group of style though, before this one.
