A friend who knows my interest in craft beer turned me onto this store.

At first glance, you would have no idea it has the selection that it does, even when you first walk in. However, when you find the beer wall, all seems right.

There is a lot of variety. Some beers are kept on a warm-ish shelf, and others in the fridge. I would say half their selection are in big bottles, and the other half are in 12 oz containers (bottles cans). It can be a bit overwhelming, but they have a couple of guides out that you can flip through. I haven't been compelled to talk to employees yet, but I hear that they are helpful.

A lot of their selection changes frequently, but will have a standard draw for their bombers... Lots of Ommegang, Brooklyn, St Bernardus. Their six pack selection seems to change every time I go in, but there are always good things to choose from.

Finally, they give free glassware when you buy more than $25 worth of big-bottled brews (if they have some in stock, which isn't always the case). I randomly received 2 duvel tulip glasses and a one of those Sam Adams signature glasses.

It's a bit pricey, but it's the best selection I've found on the island. Certainly worth not having to cross a bridge into Brooklyn or New Jersey.

I wasn't impressed with the selection here considering I went out of my way to get to this place. However, for what the place is, the selection is good. Your typical Belgians: Chimay, Delirium. I was surprised to see Super Baladin. They had a warm and a cold selection. Some of there IPAs were on the warm shelves. Two Stone beers, but nothing exciting. I paid 7 for a bomber of Southampton Imperial Porter, all the prices seemed high. It's a good place for a quick fix, but I don't see myself coming back here too soon.

At first glace you would think this is an ordinary bodega- then you see the beer section. He has a full row of refrigerators filled with beer pulse a section of selves. This is not the place for quantity of beer since he only has a 6 pack or two or only a few bottles of each, but this is the place for a selection, easily over 200 different beers. He has beer guides for customers to read thru and get a background on some of the beers. He often gives away beer glassware with larger orders of beer.

I have been shopping here for years now and never bought a skunked beer. The selection is always changing and he gets limited addition beers faster then the beer distributors do. Most of the employees seem to know the beer as well.

I you live in the boro and are looking for beer, don't bother with the beer distributors, go straight here. But take a buss or train, there is no parking. Great stop before you hop on the boat.

If you are visiting NYC and take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry, get off the boat at St George and walk here, remember you are allowed to bring beer on the boat!
