22 oz. bottle tried 10 Feb 2010.

Poured in a Celis shaker pint. Giant fluffy fizzy yellow head. Slightly hazy orange yellow in color. Aroma is sweet grapefruit, hay and yeast. Starts yeasty and sweet, becoming tart and then finishing with some grapefruit pith. Aftertaste is bitter, slightly sticky. Medium body. Ethanol seems a bit warmer than the 6.75% on the bottle. Thouch of honey throughout.

Not bad but would not get this again at the price ($6).

Bomber into my New Belgium glass. They must have just rolled out this beer into wider distro, notice the 2008 and previously dated reviews. Blonde ales... the unwanted stepchild of the craft beer movement. This one actually pours a beautiful deep golden, with a nice sized white head and some nice lacing. The aroma displays some pleasantly identifiable Noble hops, light flora, straw, though a slight vegetal quality. The flavor has some fruity malt character to it aside some Noble hops which are pretty nice, good amount of straw and the finish continues that and adds some cookie malt sweetness. I'm going to just call this one good because blonde ale is such a red headed stepchild of a category. Feels moderately thick with a full, lightly creamy carbonation. Fairly good example of a blonde though honestly the whole category is fairly useless. Decent drinking enough this one is.

From a 22 oz bottle this poured a cloudy gold with a fat white head that looked like whipped cream, hung on forever, and left large lacing rings. Mouthfeel was smooth and clean, and flavors are fairly complex wth sweet caramel malts, floral hops, and and a hint of citrus. Slightly bitter finish. Fairly easy to drink.

Paid $3.99 for a bomber from BevMo in Willow Glen, CA. Poured into a pint glass with a couple pours.

Nice 2 inch creamy light tan head. Good carbonation. Rather transparent gold color. Patchy lacing that lasts.

Aroma of sweeter malts with nutty undertones, hints of caramel.

Watery finish with a sweet malt aftertaste.

Very creamy mouthfeel that has a watery finish. Light to medium body. Nice carbonation.

Nothing really great about this beer. Nothing really bad about this beer either. Worth trying, but I won't be getting again.

Liked this beer quite a bit. It's golden, full-bodied and creamy with a nice mellow bitterness and a nice seductively subtle hoppiness. No way would you guess this ones coming in at 6.7%. I wouldn't exactly call this a blonde ale, more of a ipa/hefeweizen hybrid, but it's good nonetheless.

After trying Blue Frog's DIPA I almost didn't pick this one up but it had won enough awards that I thought I should give it a try.
I'm glad I did...it's much better than the first offering I had.

Pours a straw colored clear liquid with a nice full finger sticky head that lasts and lasts.

Aromas are lightly sweet pale malt with lots of bready middles and a little fruity hops.

Flavors have a tiny bit of sweetness in the beginning giving way quickly to bitter hops but not in the grapefruit-beer-face Pacific NW way...more in a fresh European Hops way. Almost like a Pils but even more so.

A very refreshing drink...nice creamy mouthfeel yet still light in the mouth...nice carbonation and a clean aftertaste.

I have here a clean gold colored beer with a slight chill haze and a decent white head that doesn't last that long.

The scent is slightly sweet with a strong biscuit malt aroma and a lemon hop aroma. Additional aroma of grain husks and bread.

The taste begins sweet and a little fruity in the mouth with a grain husk finish. Bitterness kicks in after a while and it is from European style hops, mostly just bitter with a little lager hop spiciness. Flavor doesn't develop much more than that.

OK in the drinkability department.

An OK beer that really only excels in he easy to drink department. This is truly effortless to drink.

22oz brown bottle. I kind of like the overall look of the graphics. Now about the contents. Poured into a pils glass it forms a meaty white head that leaves chunky lace behind. Pilsner type body with a light yellow hue and tons of speeding carbonation.

First pull had me thinking that these guys brew some fine products as I liked the red as well. Although this seems closer to a German Pils than a Blonde it kicks ass either way. Plenty of herbal hops in this and it is dry to the core. Soft underlying marmelade type malt bill just gets smashed by the drying hops. Some may say its out of balance but for my palate this works nicely.

Notes: My third offering from these guys and this one stands a few notches above the red and about 10 notches up on the DIPA. I will pick up this when I see it fresh many times over.

Sampled May 2007; Labeled Blonde frog Ale and as a Pale Ale
Pours with a brilliantly clear, full gold color and is topped by a frothy, just barely off-white colored head. The aroma has a thin, grassy hop note to it. This is joined by a green apple aroma and some notes of melon. Really this has quite a weak aroma.

The taste is quite weak as well. The beer is fairly dry, with a touch of malt sweetness to it. The beer finishes with a light hop bitterness that adds a hint of a bite. A light grassy, herbal hop note is perhaps the most dominant note, but there is also significant flavor that reminds me of a washed out macro-beer.

What a sad beer, it is not quite as bad as my disappointment, but the label on the beer specifically states "This aint no peroxide bottle blond beer. If you're not careful this pale ale will give you a run for you money". What a load of B.S.; this is quite weak over all. Though to be fair, at least there are not any significant off flavors.

Fair bodied blonde ale served in a silk-screened 22oz bottle. OG 14.5° plato, 28 IBUs, 6.75% ABV, so it's pretty heafty for a blonde. All those malted grains shine through in this one; it's light and clean looking. Reminds me alot of a lager. Some hops come through in the finish, making it crisp and refreshing. The amount of grains comes through more as it warms, bringing the drinkability down just a bit. Well crafted and definately not the average blond ale; it reminds me of a German interpretation of one. Cheers!

Blondy, blue eyed frog. Pours a light lemony yellow color with good head and decent lace. The aroma is good with a light hop aroma with a German feel. Or if not more of an earthy essence.

The German feel continues through the taste. Just feels like a presence of pilsner malt but still soft without that grainy taste. Smooth to drink. There is an off taste with the hops. A slight cheese taste at the end with a touch of bubblegum. Some sudsy and yeast in the aftertaste as well.

The body is light but easy to drink. Carbonation is there. Overall I liked the malt taste but the finish is a little off for me.
