Poured a lovely clear pinkish red body with one finger of nice white head. Very appealing in appearance. Scents of oak, wild, sour yeast funk, light aromas of berries and rose, a touch of bubblegum, nice sugar cookie-like malt, sweet floral aromas and a light touch of orange peel, white grape, spicy phenols, mostly white pepper and a bit of clove, fruity esters and alcohol. Flavor begins lightly sour with notes of white grape, rose hip and hibiscus fruity sourness and floral, rose petal flavors. Middle is moderately sour with notes of rose petal, rose hip, a light level of white pepper, a hint of white wine, and a bit of soft biscuit malt. Finish is medium-dry with notes of sour, funky yeast, sour, bright fruit and rose hip, light white pepper spiciness and a mild floral flavor. Aftertaste is sour funk and grainy and biscuit-like malt and some nice stone fruit flavors. Mouthfeel is medium-light bodied with medium-light carbonation and a smooth, slightly drying feel. Overall impression is of a nicely tart, though not too funky or sour, refreshing beer with a wonderfully fruity, flowery aroma and flavor, mingling nicely with a Belgian Golden Ale backbone. It is light, crisp, tart, fairly complex, fruity and refreshing. Highly recommended.
