Draft at brewery. Dark, black pour, small bubbly tan head, streaky lacing. Aroma comes off as roasty with a sweet edge. Taste comes together beautifully, roasty, sweet, hoppy. Full, tasty, leaving the tongue tingling.

Had on tap. Black opaque body, tan cap that fades into a ring. Tons of roasted malt star in both smell and taste with light piney hops, earth, and char. Dry and robust, good chew in the middle of the sip, higher carb that is welcomed. A little one dimensional with the powerful roast, but a throwback

12 oz can, best by 2/12/22. Pours dark brown with a big rocky tan head that retains well and leaves little lacing.
The aroma is sweet earthy grainy roasted malts and some coffee.
The flavor is sweet lactose and chocolate malt with some coffee and a bitter roast finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.
Overall, a nicely balanced stout.

Can poured into pint glass at Durango condo. Huge, varied head. Fairly strong in a flavorful way, not overpowering. Great in winter.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark, dark brown pour... nearly black with thick foamy mocha colored head. Great lacing.
S: Hoppy and roasty. Interesting mix.
T.F: Roasted grains and hops, just like it smells. Some coffee/espresso... pine, grain, and faint chocolate. Medium bodied... smooth and well carbonated. Lingering hops and roast at the finish.
O: Kind of a mix between a black IPA and a stout. Good flavors... and they mostly work well together. Fairly easy drinking. Solid work.

L - Looks like a stout, but...
S - gives it away that it's not a traditional stout - maybe oilier, hoppier than roasty
T - a little thin, which doesn't detract but definitely makes it more of a black ale. Interesting.
F - good carb, a little thin on palate, but with a good finish that is reminiscent of a Scottish black ale I had recently.
O - a good, but not great, beer from Marble. I'd call it a "Malpais Light" for the Albuquerque scene.

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead 8-12-19 for $2.99. Best by 8-24-19; consumed 10-15-19. Cold stored since purchase.
Beer poured black as night with a large tan head that is leaving some lacing behind.
Nose has some hints of licorice and chocolate.
Taste is medium roasted malts that emit chocolate and some northwest hops to give the finish a nice bite, bitterness is 6/10 on my scale (very bitter for the style).
Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and kind of smooth.
Overall a pretty nice stout. Would love to try a fresher version to see if it is better.

Ebony black body crowned with a thick and frothy light tan head; spidery fingers of lacing along the glass. Light aroma; a bit malty, a touch of charred grain. Intense flavor, combining elements of dark, sweet malt grains with a spicy, hoppy bitterness; cocoa; very faint suggestion of milk chocolate. Heavy body, but barely; light sense of residual sugar; relatively sweet overall but with some alcohol smoothness.
This is a distinctive and rather unique stout. I have to agree with @StonedTrippin that this stout leans more towards a black IPA (or Cascadian dark ale, if you will). The beer has some classic stout richness and flavors but has a mouthfeel and the spicy hop taste of a dark IPA. But these are style descriptions that don't detract from the overall appeal of this beer. It's tasty and definitely worth a try if dark ales draw you in.

Pours from the can a toasty black with an inch thick cap of cocoa colored foam. Looks lovely. Nice roasty aroma, with some dark roast coffee and dark chocolate notes. The bitterness gives it a sharp definition, with a drying finish. This was good.
