Thanks Michael, I'm always up for a little IPA. Served in a Fantome glass. Beer is amber mostly hazy with a thin white head, small and medium bubbles, some lacing, mild retention.

Aroma is piny with hints of malt and some citrus hops.

Overall a decent little IPA, medium bodied, moderate bitterness, fresh fruit on the palate, mild earthiness in the midpalate, minor malt backbone. I'd have it again if it were the only IPA available at the time.

From 11/05/11 notes. Thanks to yourfragile for sharing this one. Consumed right before their DIPA.

a - Pours a hazy orange color with one inch of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells tropical fruits, citrus hops, grapefruit, fruity malts, and pine hops. Ton of fresh hops and fruit, great nose here.

t - Tastes of citrus hops, grapefruit, pine hops, fruity malts, and some decent bitterness.

m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice bitter bite in the mouth.

o - Overall a really good IPA. I like the nose a lot; it was super hoppy and fresh. Would love to have it again.

Thanks to leschkie for this bottle.

A: Pours a wonderful cloudy golden orange. There is only a small white head and it thins quickly.

S: This beer smells like a complete hop bomb. I'm picking up pine, tropical fruits, and citrus. This is exactly how I want every IPA to smell. Absolutely incredible.

T: Unfortunately this beer doesn't taste as great as it smells. Huge grapefruit and bitter right up top. And that taste just doesn't fade. This brew it bitter, bitter, and then some more bitter. No surprise... the finish is bitter.

M: Medium bodied beer. The Hops coat the palate and just don't let go. I'd really like to have some more balance in this beer.

O: This beer smells amazing, but the taste is lacking. I almost feel like the brewers just threw as much hops, and as many different types of hops, into this beer as possible. It's super bitter, and that kind of ruins the possible subtleties this beer could have. I'm happy to have tried it, but I don't need another bottle.

Bottled on 9/12/11.

Poured a slightly hazy light gold with a rocky 2 finger head. This beer has excellent head retention.

There is a nice citrusy hop aroma although I feel it could be a bit more pronounced.

The taste is fairly well balanced between hop flavor and bitterness. There is a nice male character as well.

I think overall this is a pretty good IPA. It is starting to become my go-to IPA as I think it is the best one that is available to me here in northeast TN.

Essentially my "go-to" beer for quite some time. Had many many times before, but never before reviewed.
Enjoyed at Marble Brewery

Appearance: Great golden coloration, which is very pale. Nice head retention with some big-time stickiness. It's a really great looking beer aesthetically, it has a really "classic" quality about it.

Smell: A huge hope presence!! Really full spectrum hoppiness here, with floral to earthy, to citrusy, and everywhere in between. This certainly works to show of hops hops and even more hops... There's malt in there too, but you've gotta search a little bit.

Taste: Amazingly clean tasting, in that the bitterness of the hops isn't bombarding. It has nice balance, some nice malt notes on the finish, and great hop presence throughout. Certainly on of the best IPA's that NM has to offer; we're lucky enough to have access to it year round and always have it at it's freshest state too.

Mouthfeel: Bitter, dry, and smooth. Really, an exceptional IPA (not to completely sound like i'm "home-towning").

Overall: A beer that holds a special place in my heart as one of my introductions into hop-hood. We're lucky again, to have access to it when it's extremely fresh, and more and more local restaurants are offering it on tap (it pairs with green chile enchiladas magnificently). I have nothing but good praise for this beer, and I hope people outside of NM get the chance to try it.

Bottle. Thanks Gabe. Pours a clear light copper orange color with a slight white head. Danky, citrus rind aroma in the nose, maybe a slight tropical note as well. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet orange flavor with a nice bitter rind kick. Lively carbonation. LIngering bitterness. Some florals as well. Overall, a pretty nice IPA.

Poured a clear orange with just the slightest red hue. Head was white and a finger tall.

Smell is a standard grapefruity citrus, it's giving off a lot of fragrance. Taste is mildly citrus with a lot of piney bitterness. It's very smooth.

This is a very sessionable IPA that does not pucker your mouth like many others. A nice changeup.

Appearance: Light in color, a bit like an English IPA. Copper/golden tones all around.

Smell: Wet hops. Can't say I like this very much.

Taste/Mouthfeel: Definitely goes down smoothly, but that's because it's way too thin for an IPA. Taste is a lot like smell...wet/stale hops. Still, it has nice bite.

Drinkability: Not my favorite.

Overall: Probably the first miss by Marble that I've tasted.

A: Pours a clear light gold w/ no haze and little head that dissipates quickly.

S: Strong smell of grapefruit, hops, and citrus.

T: Tastes as good as it smells with a strong hop backbone. Floral, bitter aftertaste that lingers.

M: Thin with medium carbonation. Feels light despite the 6+ abv %.

O: Overall a solid IPA with an intense hop bite.

A - Golden brown with a half inch white head.

S - Hops all the way.

T - Hops once again. This is amazing. It is all about the hops. None of the side nonsense. This is what I think a solid ipa should be all about.

M - Nice medium carbonation. Very clean and crisp.

O - No complaints here. All around a great ipa.

This one pours an attractive sunshine orange. Its rather hazy, and you don't get an awful amount of head.

Nose: Nice hop aroma, very nice actually. Plenty of citrus (grapefruit), with a good balance of the pine aromas.

Taste: Strong grapefruit (juicy) taste. Very clean and balanced. Just a nice hop forward IPA.

Mouth: The one lived in the middle of the palate for me. Nice bitterness near the back of the mouth that finishes to a sweet dry finish.

Overall: I like this brew a lot, and could easily be a session IPA, no doubt. It's rather cheap, refreshing, light enough to pound back as many as you want, and just a solid offering.

poured ok with single finger head, color golden with good carbonation action.

smell is great with floral and citrus burst that tell me "this may be good"...

taste fulfils the smell with all flavors the nose decribed earlier..flowery first then citrus but finishes with slight bitterness that somehow holds the fruit for a great finish and great bitter feel

im a bigtime ipa guy and this is my first review...i had to write about this beer...its in my top 2 or 3 ipa's

Draft pint at the Sleeping Dog Tavern in Santa Fe NM. Enticing orange grapefruit followed by passion fruit aroma. Can't get enough of sniffing this one! One finger head. Medium bitterness of grapefruit skin. Not sessionable but great with the salmon fish and chips. Rate this one very good, and did I mention that the aroma is heavenly!

Orange gold pour with 1-finger finely bubbled white cream head. Decent retention, but not much lace. Active carbonation.

Nose is an herbal pine bomb. Very nice.

Lots of pine up front and tons in the finish. Gets a bit flowery in the end. Slight fizziness in my bottle, but could be an aberration.

Feel is about right for the style. More fizzy than cream, but works with the pine.

Very nice and easy to drink. Not a huge standout, but a solid west coast IPA.

Robust mouthful of hops. Huge aroma of pine and fresh hops on the vine. Light bodied with a deep resiny bite. Pours with a tall snowy head in the Weizen glass, where the narrow neck gives a good concentrated nose. Some traces of biscuity malt, but it's just hops and more hops.

Rather bitter, not much relief in the way of malt. Clean but very simple. Long aftertaste of exactly the same hops as in the aroma and the first sip. A textbook example of hops on display: Columbus, Amarillo, and Centennial.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Thanks to marqoid for the bottle.

A - Pours a medium, hazy orange with a finger and a half off-white head. Very good retention and lots of patches of lacing left on the glass.

S - Grassy, citrus, and pine.

T - The sweet malts hit you first, which is then followed by the citrus flavors, and it finishes with some pine.

D - Lots of carbonation, sweeter.

O - Nice, but sweet.

Bottled 2/18/11

A- Damn near three inches of an off white head with a clear but somewhat hazy golden body. A few dozen streams of effervescence. Great head retention and clumpy lacing.

S- Citrus explodes out of the bottle and into the pint glass. "Fresh."

T- That clean citrus-tinged hop character that I love...almost sour citrus (think lemon/lime) but not quite. Good caramel malt backbone but hops dominate the balance slightly. Well hidden alcohol.

M- Medium to medium-thin mouthfeel with adequate carbonation.

D/O- Underrated and under distributed(?) beer right here. Could drink for days if need be. Hopefully in the future this will get into the hands of more and more BAs because New Mexico has a gem in this IPA and Marble Brewery alike. Thanks TATURBO.

(12oz bottle). Pours a hazy golden yellow with white head. Decent lacing shaping up. Some nice grapefruit aromas with a little hop funk, hay also. Taste is semi-sweet and bitter, like citrus pith. Lighter bodied but not thin. Oily texture with lively carbonation. Finish is pleasantly bitter, but somewhat chalky. Overall, this is a nice IPA and quite sessionable. A couple of tweaks and this beer will blow up.

12oz bottle from Phelps.

Pours a hazy golden orange with a thin creamy white head that leaves sporadic lacing on the sides.

The aroma is all about the juicy citrus hops with pineapples leading the way. Bit of malts in the background but the hops get even stronger as it warms, grapefruit and a bit of candied fruits as well.

Taste has a nice pithy bitterness up front with oranges and grapefruit. The backbone is doughy malts is enough to balance things out a bit.

The mouthfeel is excellent, sticky with hops and really juicy for a regular IPA.

This is one of the better IPAs I've had recently. It's one of the most flavorful standard IPAs I can remember having. It's got as much complexity as a really solid DIPA. Highly recommended.

A: Pours a clear, deep golden color with two fingers of foamy, white head. Nice thick film with large bubbles around the outer edges of the glass. Caked on lacing around all edges. This is a really nice looking beer.

S: Whoa. Big tropical fruit and pine. Pineapple, orange, some grassiness, sweet malts. The smell really took me by surprise. This a good beer.

T: Taste is just a little bit of a let down from the nose, but is still very good. The pine and grass seem take control while the tropical/citrus take a back seat. Sweet, bready malts and a slight honey taste rounds things out.

M: Medium bodied and creamy. For as hoppy of a beer this is, the finish isn't all that dry.

O: This is a very good IPA that's insanely drinkable and has just about everything you'd want. Very glad Marble IPA is now availabe in Nashville because I can see myself buying quite a lot of this in the future.

Poured into a pint glass. Nice sticky white lacing atop a slightly hazy light golden color.

Nice hoppy aroma with pine and a hint of citrus. There is a bit of dankness.

The taste is very crisp and refreshing with lots of pine blending with a slight citrus kick in the finish.

This beer is medium bodied but drinks pretty light. Very enjoyable.

This sooo reminds me of Sculpin in the profiles of this beer.

Appearance: This beer pours with a nice white head and a slightly hazy golden color to it-- real nice color.

Smell: This is where this beer really shines-- it smells like tropical goodness-- mango, pineapple, maryjane floral all wrapped up into one intoxicating smell. This beer smells almost identical to SCULPIN which is my favorite single IPA. Big Props!

Taste: Has a great hop forward, crisp flavor with just enough malt backbone to balance it out quite nicely. Has a citrus flavor with a slight bready taste to it. Again taste is very similar to Sculpin. Highly recommended!

Mouthfeel: Has the perfect amount of carbonation to make this a great session beer.

Drinkablility: This is what i call a sessionable IPA. I like this because of the low ABV and the fact that it can bring so much tropical smell and flavor to the table with it being such a low ABV. I am drinking one of these as we speak and each time i take a sip i think of my beloved Sculpin.

Came in a box from the great papollo. Thanks big Paul!

A: Everything an IPA should be. A wonderful hazy gold color with about half an inch of white head that laces and settles into a ring.

S: Kinda grainy and grassy. Hoppier as it warms. Not an unpleasant aroma at all, but not a heavy hitter within the style.

T/M: This is one bitter mother. Very much citrus hop forward, with a solid malt undercurrent. The bitterness is accentuated by the extremely dry mouthfeel. Carbonation is light, body's a bit thin.

D: Overall, this is a very nice IPA, though not something I'd go out of my way to acquire.

Another extra from grownfool... Poured in my Yazoo Tulip pint.

A bright yellowy gold color with a nearly white head of 2 fingers. Excellent lacing and retention. The beer is effervescent as it bubbles up to create a head that is thick and creamy. The lace is gorgeous curtains of bubbles.

Smells of lemony citrus with notes of grass and pine. Very little malt.... Nice.
Tastes even better. Light dry malt with excellent hoppiness... Citrus and pine with a little bitterness... This is bright and fresh tasting. Very very good. The body is light and well-carbonated, making it feel light, airy, and refreshing.
The bitterness is light and well-integrated. This is a really grood beer that had been under my radar for a long time! Thanks grownfool!

Bottle to frosted pint glass. Good appearance and bouquet. The hoppy scent is backed by an equally hoppy taste. I'm impressed. Its kick parallels double IPAs, but its mouthfeel is like a traditional American IPA. Tough to get other than out West. I got a 6er in Knoxville, TN (per a solid recommendation), but it's from Albequerque, NM, and markets west of the Mississippi River are few and far between.
