Growler from GHB. Thanks! I'm told this is a blend of barrel aged Double Wit with brett and Cuvee D'Abricot.

Appearance: Hazy pale blond body topped by a voluminous and frothy white cap.

Aroma: Plenty of funky brett aromatics, more barnyard and old leather than tropical fruit. Brett brux I'm guessing, though this is thankfully light on Band-aid. The apricot shines through, too, lending a really nice fruity undertone that works well with the funk. There's noticeable acidity, but it's fairly mild; this is definitely more of a brett-dominant beer.

Palate: Leathery, musty brett at the forefront, with tart stone fruit beneath. Gently sour and spicy, nice phenolic funkiness. The wit base peeks through a bit too, mostly the creamy wheat foundation, but the spices as well to a lesser extent. Light bodied and dry, this is easy drinking stuff, very well balanced. The finish is mild, a bit lactic, almost milky, with a touch of lingering pineapple and peach.

Overall: Impressive. I like this quite a bit more than Cuvee D'Abricot on its own. The brett profile highlights everything I like about the yeast while avoiding the more unpleasant flavors it can produce.
