Del Norte Cinco has a thin, stark-white head and a very hazy, lemon-yellow appearance, with lots of relatively large gray chunks floating throughout. Some lacing is evident. The aroma is of the typical Mexican style, meaning pungent, sweet grain. Taste is of lemons, for whatever reason, with sweet grain and an overall light beer wateriness. Mouthfeel is as expected, light and watery, and Del Norte Cinco finishes crisp, refreshing, highly drinkable, and mostly dry. For a light beer, it’s a sure winner, and for beer overall it’s not bad. I think it’s worth checking out.

I don't understand why this beer exists. There are plenty of Mexi-style pale lagers out there that deliver what they promise at a low price. This one doesn't deliver and it was more expensive.

A: Slightly darker than your average straw-coloured Corona-esque brew. On mine the head quickly disappeared to a thin layer of bubbles shaped like the Stanley Cup.

S: Like breakfast cereal. Never have the ingrediental similarities between beer and Cheerios been as apparent as when sniffing this one. This is not a good thing.

T: The best I can say for it is that it has a clean finish. Prior to that, we're firmly into dish soap territory.

M: Actually not bad - the sweet spot between presence and ease of drinking.

Didn't finish it.

12 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard pressure cap servedinto a nonical Guinness pint glass in high altitude Castle Rock, Colorado. Reviewed live. Expectations are extremely low; I just tried Manana earlier tonight.

Served straight from the refrigerator. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.

A: Pours a pathetic beige colour edge floater without any cream, thickness, or real retention. Colour is a dismal straw yellow. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show.

Sm: Straw, barley, nice hops, and clean malts. Surprisingly fresh for what it is. Maybe it won't be that bad...

T: Straw and barley, with some hints of stale malts and very restrained hops. Simple, boring, bland, and uninspired. No yeast or alcohol comes through. Crisp but not full bodied. Somewhat watery.

Mf: Wet, overly thick, smooth, and thin. Pretty bad all around.

Dr: Drinkable but pathetic. Might go decently in a chicken marinade, but I won't be getting it to drink in the future.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass. Didn't see any bottling info.

Visually, probably the lightest beer I've ever seen. It's not quite BMC Urine (color trademark pending), and I wouldn't call it "bad" but it sure is light. Crystal clear, whatever head was there is gone now.

Smell is light, mostly sweet corn, some grains.

Taste-wise, there's lots of corn, some grains, very little bitterness or hop flavor. It's a lager, but it might as well be a cream ale as far as I can tell.

Mouthfeel is thin, not too much carbonation. I like that; sometimes I feel like I'm drinking a soft drink with these light beers.

Well, it's a Mexican-style lager - if you're comparing it to, say, a Corona, it's better than average. I'd drink this on a beach, sure. If you're comparing it to pretty much any other style, though, it's lacking.

on tap at illegal petes on evans. i hate to say it pours a urine looking yellow, but it really does. incredibly pale and light, see through, crystal clear. small white head. looks like a coors light, except appetizing, if that makes sense. not much aroma to speak of honestly, a bit of standard malt and some watered down bittering hops. flavor is actually quite good, its crisp and balanced, although insanely light. feel is well carbonated and down effortlessly. this would be just fine with some spicy food, or even just as a good slammer on a hot day. i actually liked it better than their orale. appropriate session beer for cinco de mayo.

I had this on draught at the Old Chicago.

A light coloured brew, pale yellow is a better description, with almost no foam. No lacing.

The smell was grainy, sweet, corny. Not a good sign.

The taste was sweet, corny, grainy, a bit of biscuit, boring but I felt it *was* a beer that was very much like a Mexican Lager. I didn't order another; it took me way too long to finish the pint I ordered.

I'm glad I tried it but I couldn't see myself having another stab at it.

12 oz bottle pours the palest of yellow colors with great clarity and a small cap of fizzy white head.

Nose is light and grainy with a slight lagery yeast aroma and very little, if any, hop aroma.

Taste is quite light and the grain is airy and slightly biscuity. It reminds me of a Natural Light without the 'light'...has a more substantial body and flavor but some of the same tangy metallic flavors that made natty undrinkable for me back in the day. Glad I only bought a single of this, me no likey.

Poured from above the glass gives this beer a big white head above a clear light golden colored beer.

A weak washed out light sour citrus aroma with maybe a slight hops note to it.

The taste is pretty washed out light beer likeness with some light sour citrus hops coming through without much else.

This beer finishes with a light dry aftertaste with a slight sourness to it.

I'll have to pass on this beer, it's kind of like a semi-stale PBR.

Pours a clear, straw color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent slight and poor lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, grain, and a hint of citrus. Fits the style of an American Pale Lager. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of sweet malt, pale malt, grain, and a hint of hops. Overall, very session-able, good feel, and decent blend.

Served in a shaker pint glass.

A: Clear gold with very little carbonation. The small white head quickly falls to a ring at the beer's edge. Leaves no lace.

S: The light aroma is made up of straw, lemon, grass and a touch of corn.

T: Dry malt out front has a straw and honey quality to it. Bitterness follows with a mild lemony bite. Finishes fairly clean, with a lingering straw flavor.

M: Light body is a touch syrupy. Carbonation level is about right.

D: This is a decent session beer that works well on a warm day. A little more complexity wold have been nice.

Just picked this one up as part of a mixed 6 pack. Hadn't tried any of their beers yet, but I liked the label and figured I'd give it a shot. Not a whole lot going on here; looks like any other Mexican "light" beer, but has a little more heft to it. Nothing surprising going on with this one, just a simple, drinkable pale lager, a step or so above the average Mexican lager.
