12oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark brown body, fairly opaque on the borderline of being pitch black, one finger offwhite head, good retention and a medium collar. Bits of lacing. Smell is lightly roasted coffee, toffee, milk chocolate, nuttiness. It's fairly restrained actually, but I can tell it's there because the typical nutty toffee-forward aromas from brown ales is balanced out. Flavour is similarly balanced; toffee, coffee, a bit of cream, nuttiness, touch of chocolate, slight creamy and smooth burn on the end. Mouthfeel is lighter medium bodied, good carbonation, smooth and creamy on the finish. A solid coffee brown ale, for sure. Lighter in ABV, easy drinker.

Poured into a tulip glass.
A: Pours almost black with one inch foamy head. Head dissipated but leaves a thin ring around the glass at the surface of the beer. Beer is hazy brown with a hint of red.
S: Smells like coffee, as you would hope. With chocolate and malt undertones. I could go for a little more balance here.
T: Coffee is most upfront flavor too. A little bitterness from it, but not as strong as other coffee beers I've had, which is good. Other beers sometimes taste like old coffee, but this does not. If this is truly brewed with cold brew, that was a good move as it gives a richer more chocolatey taste. Definitely some dark malt flavors as well. The brown ale is a good match to the coffee. I find a hint of nuttiness in there too.
M: Has a little creaminess in the feel. Not as much as a milk stout but more than a typicaly brown ale.
O: One of the better coffee ales I've had recently. It's been my breakfast beer this weekend and fits very well into that place. I'm glad it comes in 6-packs so I can do this a few more times.

A: Dark, an apparent clarity but opaque. Creamy beige head that fades to bubbly lacing that persists.
Ar: Coffee leads the nose w/intense notes of roasted grounds, dark chocolate, a mild fruitiness, hops not apparent, and brown sugar. Definitely great.
T: Flavor is strong in coffee, strong dark malts. Chocolate and sweetness throughout. Very straightforward. Notes of cola and a long lasting finish of coffee bitterness.
Mf: Medium creamy body, medium high carbonation.
O: Overall pretty straight forward brew. Coffee takes the lead in most aspects and easy to drink. I could see this getting old and boring pretty quick though.

I never actually poured this out of the can, so I can't say much for look. I absolutely loved this the first time I tried it, but when I got back to the fridge with the other five a week later they just weren't speaking to me anymore.
It does taste very strongly of coffee (more so than your typical coffee infused beer.) The coffee taste is actually strong enough that my fiance was unable to bust me for drinking in the morning because I simply had coffee breath.
When I drank it the first time it tasted like Burger King's old coffee offering (BK JOE, rest in peace.) That following week it tasted more like Starbuck's black coffee. I am perplexed.
