Appearance is a hazy amber supporting a healthy thick head. Smell is sweet with the caramel malt with piney hops and citrusy fruit. Taste has the sweetness from the malt and a bitter "twang"if you will, from the hops and yeast. Mouthfeel is light medium with good carbonation. A little off in the flavor profile with the twanginess, but still has that base for an IPA.

Pours amber into a Deschutes tulip.
Nice two finger head retains well. Good lace pattern.
Smooth balanced flowery with plenty of hop flavor.
Aftertaste very pleasant. No cloy whatsoever.
A very good West Coast representation of the style.
Two Beers makes it very easy to drink local.

A- Plain copper color. Like an IPA should look like.

S- Great smell. Lot of citrus and floral scents coming through. Smells only a tad bit hoppy.

T- Exceptional hoppy flavor. Citrus flavors ruminate after first tasting. This beer has the similar bitter bite that Ninkasi IPA has to it.

M- Great texture and feel in the mouth. Does not dry your mouth out like other stronger IPA's tend to do to me.

O- Best beer that I've tasted from Two Beers Brewery. They are close to my house so I'm excited to visit them. This is a great beer to introduce someone to IPA. Lots of strong supporting flavors, not to much hop.

Wonderful beer.

Thanks to 5000 for sending this can my way.

The beer pours an orange-amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of toffee and grass notes, with not much else coming through. The flavor is more pronounced. I get a lot of the orange and pine notes from the hops, as well as some biscuit malt and a low to medium amount of bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Copper and amber appearance, has the look of a good ipa, white head, about 1". Aroma wasn't dry hoppy enough, plenty of bitterness noticeable in the aroma, but lacked green vegetalness.

Taste, ah, another bitter bomb lacking hop mouthfeel. Substantial malt ratio, a nice move given the high bitterness. Grapefruit and caramel. It seems to be bigger than the abv indicates, just doesn't impart enough of what an ipa should be about: hops. All bitterness and heavy malt. Bring the hops and the citrus flavors next time.

22oz bottle, now just called 'Evo IPA' on the product recently shipped north of 49.

This beer pours a clear, bright medium copper amber colour, with two fat fingers of puffy, densely foamy, and bubbly beige head, which leaves some pleasantly splotchy webbed lace around the glass as it slowly recedes.

It smells of bitter grapefruit and orange rind, a further bit of lemon wedge and a slight soapy edge to its prominent hoppiness, with a tame crackery, grainy pale malt and oh so subtle caramel sweetness passing for offset here. The taste is a bit more balanced, the bready, doughy, and laid-back crackery malt holding fast, with the edgy floral, piney, and meekly citrusy hops reveling in their counterpoint.

The bubbles are steadfast in their supportive duties, and little more, the body average in its medium weight, and generally smooth, without much interference from the hops on this account, so, good! It finishes off-dry, just, the malt giving up the ghost, while the otherwise plodding west coast hops keep on keepin' on.

A so-so Yankee IPA, the attendant bitterness eventually lacking any tangent to real-world savoury pleasure - ya know, the fruit or the forest floor goodness. Anyways, simple in its rendering, and overtly boozy by the end, which speaks to a certain lack of integration. Oh well - this joint is drinkable enough for a Friday night, IYKWIM.

22 oz. bomber poured into a straight pint glass.

A: The beer pours a hazy orange copper color with a nice head of creamy tan foam. There are small strands of bubbles rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate lacing clings to the sides.

S: Citrus aroma in the foreground with minimal pine. Plenty of malt and caramel in the background.

T: There is a citrus punch in the beginning bringing with it flavors of grapefruit, lemon and orange peel. This is complimented by a strong backbone of toasted malt and caramel that takes over the profile.

M: Evolutionary IPA has a medium body with moderate carbonation and a dry mouth feel.

O: This IPA has a nice initial hoppy flavor, but it transitions into a strong malt profile a little too quickly for my liking. It's a still highly drinkable beer, but the flavors aren't exactly what I'm looking for.

Side-note: I originally had this beer (about two weeks prior) in a can (for a roadie) and was amazed...and was hoping for another chance to review...this time in a bomber-bottle...

P:1 Pint, 6ozs brown bottle with a simple lime-green label with hops illustrated ...

Appearance: Hazy orange/copper beer with a patchy cream off-white foam head that clings to the sides of the glass.

Smell: Very pronounced malts & hop aromas, marmalade with background sweet malts and a heavy bready grain aroma.

Taste: Big malts! This is has some orange peel light hop feel, but mostly malty...

Mouthfeel is a medium carbinated beer with a malty thick full-body.

Taste: The initial taste is malts with orange peel, followed by an some hops...

Mouthfeel A medium/heavy beer with medium (decent) carbination that is heavy, yet smooth...

Notes: This one I first saw (in a can) at an independent grocery store near where I live. I loved how smooth it was...I looked forward to sitting down to review either finding it on tap, or in a bottle...I found it at another market (similar to Whole Foods) in a 22 ozs bomber...Although still smooth, not as good as I remembered it in the can...maybe I was so impressed canned beer could be so good (compared to other macro beers)...after all, kegs are canned beer to eh?!...Chasin' Cheers :~)

A reddish copper pour, light tan head with decent retention. Aromas of pineapple, mandarin orange, and light honey. Flavors of pineapple and grapefruit with bitterness just barely taking the lead over the malt, and then a little sweetness comes through. Mouthfeel is a bit think initially, but improves. Aftertaste of lightly bitter citrus rind. An IPA that's simple and easy-drinking, but has just enough flavor to keep my interest for a pint.

22 oz brown wax topped bomber into a tulip glass. I enjoyed this one in early Sept. 2011.

Pours a slightly hazed copper, with a several overly foamy fingers of off-white head. This eventually shrinks down to a rich ½ finger, which just drenches the sides of the glass with thick foamy swathes of lace. The aroma is floral, with a touch of a leafy dankness to it, and I’m sad to find, some mineral (almost metallic) off-notes. Citric fruit and malt add a bitter smelling twang across the back of the nose.

The taste has a bright grapefruit character to it that intertwines with a herbal feel. Malts are sweet across the back and help balance out the bulk of that leafy bitterness. Pine and pith finish this strong, with a moderate dryness that sticks to the tongue. Unfortunately, there is a bit of unwanted tartness going on here that makes me think (along with the off nose and overly foamy pour) that there is an infection starting to take shape here. The mouthfeel is medium bodied but as you would expect, is heavily overly carbonated. There is however some underlying slickness here to this and I will say that the sharpness does start to die down after a while.

This was the initial bottling of this beer and well, it showed. Something obviously got in here. It’s a shame to, as I had an opportunity to sample this on tap as well at the same liquor store that I purchased the bottle from and it showed some real promise.

Another can courtesy of the legendary woodychandler. Poured from a 12 oz. can. This beer came gushing out of the can and settled down to have a burnt orange color with a 2 inch head. Smell is dominated by hops. Taste is also of hops, some light citrus notes, no real malt balance to speak of. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
