Unfortunately World Market is going out-of-business (boo!). They definitely have a better than average selection. And you can pick your own 6 pack at a decent price. Not as good as Apollo (in Rochester), but still a decent place to peruse for brews. Nice selection of Unibroue, Rogue, German and even some Belgians. They rotate their selection frequently, so it's prudent to check back for different brews (e.g. Samuel Adams Long Shot beers). Again, very sad they will be closing their store here! :(

I can say without a doubt that Cost Plus World Market is the worst place to buy craft beer in Rochester. To be fair I have only bought beer from them three times. However, all three times I bought a mixed six pack, and at least four of the beers in each six pack tasted like cardboard and were obviously well past their prime. The selection is rather dull too. It is mostly nationally available brands like Sierra Nevada, Anchor, BBC, and Unibroue. They don't carry much at all from any of local Minnesota breweries, and they don't carry anything you can't find everywhere else in town. Service has always been polite. Overall, if you want to find a good selection of fresh craft beer in Rochester try Apollo next to Best Buy, Andy's Crossroads, or Hy-Vee Wine and Spirits.

This place is great if you want to get a variety six pack. They have several craft brews in single bottles and sixpacks from around the country and several good imports including 750ml of Chimay, many Unibroue's, and a good selection of Rogues. I like going to this place if I just want to pick up a single bottle of beer, which only costs $1.69 - not bad if you just want to try one before you commit to a $10 sixer. This place is mostly for wine, it seems, but if you are a beer guy, check this place out if you are just starting to get into micros and want to sample a few.
Good pricing, nice staff.
Edit: Selection at this store has gone up quite a bit. They also seem to be bringing in a lot more seasonals. I just picked up a mixed sixer of Winter brews today including Anchor Our Special Ale, Boulder Never Summer, Rogue Santa's Private Reserve, Full Sail Wassail, Boulevard Nutcracker, and Widmer Brrr.
Still not the place for six pack variety, but still the place to go in Rochester if you want to pick up a build your own sixer.
