An old style bar located that offers a wide variety of draft beers on tap, with a good amount of local beers including some of the top beers in Louisiana.

Best bar food in Nola. Draft Beer selection is as good as it gets in nola. Great place to chill. Great area to be in not sketchy and easy to get to unlike the quarter.

Beer selection is pretty solid here, more niche or bigger beers than the uptown location. Vibe is pretty relaxed with ample indoor and outdoor seating. Food is pretty bad, just skip it and eat somewhere else in Midcity

A: The atomosphere is great at the Bulldog. You can go hang out on the patio and have good beer and great conversation. The music is always pretty good.
Q/S: The beer selection is really good. A nice mix of US craft beer, imports, and a wide slection of local beer. The glass selection isn't that great. I've only ever been served in a pint glass.
F: I haven't had any of the food, but it does look good.
O: If you're in New Orleans this is a great place to stop. This is my brother and I's favorite hangout. We've spent hours just chilling out and talking while tasting some great beers.

I've visited this bar countless times over the past 6 years or so. It was my favorite bar for the longest time. They have a great number of drafts to pick from. I have tried almost every one of the draft offerings.
The atmosphere is wonderful. It feels just like an Irish pub. The patio area always feels alive and comfortable. There is also a private party deck that is opened to the crowd if there is no private function.
This bar can be quite popular. Some nights, it is very difficult to find a seat or even to get to the bar. The most crowded night is typically Wednesday. Wednesdays are free pint glass nights. I have a nice collection of glasses, myself. They are quality and are actually made of glass with logos or designs on them.

This was more upscale than the original location on Magazine Street. Facing, there was a wide series of window fronts with the entry to the extreme right and "The Outdoor Beer Patio" to the extreme left. Entering, the opulence was evident, from the gorgeous dark wood, "U"-shaped bar to the immediate right of the doorway, to the couches in center, to the wood ceiling. Oh my! Past the bar, the kitchen was straight aft with the lavs to the left. The bar area had great high tables with swiveling chairs. The center area featured standard tables and chairs left and comfy upholstered chairs right. Further aft was the shuffleboard table left, followed by the patio. Best of all, the upscale clientele were offset by some really rough types that made me wonder what would happen if I ever raised my voice in vulgarisms at IHLNC. Slit and Twist were just a couple of the niceties that I heard uttered. Hey, it was Nawlins, right?

This is my favorite bar in New Orleans. I am proud to have had it added to BeerAdvocate.com
They have fifty taps with rarely an empty one and about 100 different bottles in their double door cooler. I consider the tap selection to be well rounded from BMC, well actually no C on tap, to typical European imports, to some Germans and Begians, Bocks, Dopple Bocks, Ciders, Ambers, Pale Ales, IPAs, a Stout or two, and typically a Rogue porter. The bottle selection is similar, venturing further into the Belgians.
The quality of the draft beer here is always top notch. This place is owned by some of the same group that owns Lagers and their attention to their lines and the quality of the air used to propel their draft seems to be the same.
The atmosphere here is very comfortable: bar stools and high tables inside along about six sofas, patio furniture and long picnic tables outside plus a party area that can be reserved free, beer or food purchase required.
The bartenders here are all friendly with varying ranges of beer knowledge. They willingly give samples of the beer they have on tap and give feedback on the draft and bottles.
The food is typical bar food: (burgers, chicken sandwiches, cheese fries, nachos, jambalaya, and salad). I eat lunch at this Bulldog every Friday I can. The blackened chicken sandwich on Jalapeño bun is excellent.
Prices seem on par with other such establishments. They run daily specials and have happy hour pricing. The Wednesday night special is pint glass night. They have Bulldog labeled pint glasses with catchy phrases, fleur de lis, pictures, all sorts of things.
They also have a single plaque on the wall with patron's names on them who have completed all fifty taps (as the Uptown location has 7+). The pull to have my name on the wall in a bar is enough to keep me coming back - and I do. I'm trying to reserve future cards for the next plaque.
