On tap at brewpub:
Pours fairly black in a medium light room, clarity visible at the mahogany edges. Beige head is lasting as film and a thick collar.

Nose has a roasted malt cola aspect. A deeper whiff brings some flavored coffee, as well as a lightly sweet floral aspect.

Taste also starts a bit sweet, but the roasted malt coffee comes to the party quickly. This brings a slight charred bitterness to balance the opening. The mix becomes more chocolatey, but not very sweet, maybe a light cola aspect.

A nice malty, lighter offering that fits into the style quite well, I believe.

Served from a growler purchased at the brewpub and drunk upon getting home. I used a tallish pilsener style glass.

Appearance: Clear ruby-twinged brown topped by a smallish frothy offwhite head. No real head retention, but small flecks of foam were left on the glass.

Smell: Biscuity caramelized malts with a hint of smokiness mixing with faint grassy hops.

Taste: Caramelized and bready malts again. Smokiness is a little more apparent, but not like a rauchbier or anything.

Mouthfeel: Lightbodied, suprising given the apparent malt bill.

Drinkability: This is a fine little session beer. It won't make you go, "Holy Shit!!" but will definitely make you say, "Damn!"

Other: this helped me get through one of the debates.. I forget which.
