I have found some great finds here. They are constantly rotating their selection. I love looking around for something new at this location.

Great selection of craft brews, better than the Spec's in Friendswood (closest to me). Well organized, and you rarely find anything out-dated. If you do, let them know and they pull it immediately.

Of course, like any Spec's I've been to, they have a phenomenal wine and spirits selection. And also a nice variety of specialty finger foods. If you like cigars, this location has one of the largest walk in humidor's I've seen, also well stocked.

As far as aesthetics, this location feels old and could stand to be cleaned up a little bit, but that's not why your there. When I'm looking for something special or out of the ordinary, this is usually my fist stop.

My daughter lives about 2 miles from this store, and whenever I go to visit, I always stop here. I think it compares very favorably with the superstore downtown. Very large beer selection, and I continue to be impressed with the variety of beers that I don't get here in Maine. I find the service to be good. If they haven't known the answer, they've always been able to call somewhere and find out for me.

My wife the oenophile says they also have a great wine selection, particularly New Zealand sauv blancs.

This store is huge! It has huge liquor, beer, wine, cigar, olive, cheese, deli, and coffee selections. The beer department is massive and it carries just about every beer that you can get in the houston market. The employees there know a little about beer. Enough to help people out. The managers dont know anything about beer nor do they care about the beer dpt. and they are quite rude at times, but the rest of the employees are very friendly. They carry such brews as:

St Bernardus Abt 12, Triple, Prior 8, Pater 6, Christmas
Chimays
Pine Belt Pale
all Shiners
Rogue XS series and other Rogues
Rogue Dead Guy Growlers filled!
Sam Adams
Sam Smith
Baltika
Urthel
Pike XXX Stout and others
all Saint Arnolds
Rahr
Victory Storm King, Prima Pils, Hop Devil
Paulaner
Bear Republic (the widely distributed ones)

etc etc etc....

If this is the Spec's near you and most convenient for you and you need a tough beer question answered that nobody there can answer, ask them to give the beer dpt at Spec's #40 a call and ask for Hugo. He runs the beer dpt at that Spec's and he is one of the most knowledgable beer guys in the Spec's company.
