I've had a good double ipa from cap city before. Don't know why they changed the recipe...

It's a moderately big, unbalanced bitter beer with no malt backbone and nothing endearing to it's character. Color is good, aroma is uninspired. Taste is lacking. The beer is one-dimensional, at best. Not their best work. Still, it packs in the hops and alcohol.

Reviewed on 06/04/2009. Sampled from a growler at PPRBSG09. This beer pours a clear brown with a small head. It has an aroma of iced tea and some roasted malts. The flavor is very sweet and malty with a watery palate. Overall I just wasn't really a fan.
