Adorable place just one block over from the bus stop. Nice tap display around the center beam at the bar, and overall good taps available - both imports and local/regional beers. Our bartender was from NY and she was quite friendly nonetheless, unlike many New Yorkers.

Pints were reasonably priced and the menu looked attractive, but we were in between meals. The atmosphere and overall feel were quite welcoming - the sort of place where you want to become a regular. We did not have a chance to view the downstairs bar area. Bathrooms could use a good cleaning, especially the profanity scribbled all over the walls at a decent place like this.

Located in the 'swank' East Burnside district, The Eastburn is one of the most recent additions to the PDX bar scene, and a welcome one at that. The funky indoor patio is the scene of monthly beer and food dinners featuring some of America's most innovative brewers like Firestone Walker. The rotating taps feature a number of quality micros, and this is one of the few places you'll have a chance of finding Upright 7. While Taplister helps to isolate what's on tap, more than once I've arrived a bit late to find my brew of choice was already gone. The food is of pretty good quality for a bar. The $3.00 for brews during happy hour, and the Tuesday $2.00 all day special, make The Eastburn one of the better values on the PDX bar scene. Worth a visit

After four or five visits, I feel qualified to review this place. First of all: it's not one bar, not two bars, but THREE bars all rolled into one. From the outside, The Eastburn is an unassuming pub, a single-story that's easily bypassed (except for their garish salmon-pink exterior) along a busy stretch of E. Burnside. Inside is a different matter: a stair descending to a dungeon-like netherworld of games and strung lights (The TapRoom), a spacious day-lit bar and dining room (The Annex), and an all-weather outdoor space, resplendent with swinging rattan chairs, benches and firepits (The Patio!).

But for one fortuitous visit on a lazy weekend, every stop I've made to EastBurn happened on a Tuesday. For a thrifty beer-lover, Tuesday is the time to visit - every tap is a paltry $2/pint(!!!). 9 taps at the above bar, 9 taps below, each different but uniquely 'Northwest'. All your local favorites are on tap: HUB, Double Mountain, Amnesia, New Old Lompoc, Hair of the Dog. On a recent visit (tonight) I had 10 Barrel S1nist0r and a Dunkel from Leavenworth. Mix in a smattering of other Northwest favorites: Hales, Cascade, etc. and you have a winner taplist. For whatever reason, taps seem a little 'watered down', though glasses do meet the 'Honest Pint' criteria, a full 16 oz. Only other problem is the bottle list is kinda mediocre, lots of macros and just a few I found interesting (DFH 90Min, SNPA, and Rogue DGA were the highlights). A lengthy wine list and plenty of shelved booze make this a bar meant to satisfy all imbibers.

Have eaten here a couple times: once for lunch (burger was terrific) and another time for apps (OK). The vibe is comfortable, a spacious room above with booths and broad tables, a 'rec room' feel below, with skee-ball and HD TVs broadcasting sports. Feels like a 'neighborhood place' through and through, easy to love. Not the ultimate beer bar in town, but a fun place with a good taplist nonetheless. Recommended, but not a rave.
