2016 Brandy-barrel aged version, 11.5%. Not sure if there's a difference or not. Dark reddish amber with a pinky's width of foam, which fades after a couple minutes.

Aromas of dark fruits, raisin and plum, caramel sweetness.

Taste starts off sweet with dried plums and raisins, becoming malty in the middle and finishing with a light bitterness that lingers. Light heat from the brandy barrel, but pretty well integrated, the base beer is big enough to stand up to it.

Full bodied and chewy, thick and viscous. Balanced sweetness and bitterness, light smooth carbonation.
Overall this makes for a nice sipper on a cool night.
