Potosi is making a move into Iowa.

Pours a pretty dark body gold with brown hues. Not enough head to give it a higher score.

Nose is malty and metallic.

Taste is malty but not over the top. Some toastiness and hints of hops. Nice and fresh tasting. An easy to drink beer, but not one that stands out.

Pale copper orange color with a two finger off-white head that falls slowly, becoming rocky and leaving some chunky lace. Aroma of sweet, bready malts, a little bit of caramel, and some fruitiness. Taste follows suit. Nice balance between the bready caramel malts, and lightly bitter hops. Nice sweet flavor with just a touch of citrus. Body is medium with very light carbonation making this one slick and easy to drink. Very tasty stuff, though not mind-blowing in any way. ABV seems low. Tastes and drinks like a great session ale. Good stuff from Potosi.

Thanks to Rob for the bottle!

Pour was light copper with about a half-inch of white foam. Faint nose of nut-bread malt. Palate was more of the faint bready-biscuit character with a hint of caramel. Hops are basically faint, but this isn't a malt bomb by any means. Body has fair substance, carbonation was lower side of medium. All in all I would be hard pressed to seek this one out again, it's average in all regards.

Reviewed from notes; originally 8/02/10.

A-Pours a pale light orange/caramel color with a two finger white head.

S-Caramel with light hints of pine and lemon hop notes.

T-Biscuity and caramel malt with light bitter, slightly piny hop notes.

M-Pretty smooth mouthfeel with crisp carbonation and a medium body.

D-An easy drinking beer, but one that I probably won't search again. I've had better domestic versions of ESB's that are easier to find and tastier.

Pours a light amber in color with a rocky, stone khaki colored head, which remained throughout consumption. Ample carbonation is seen from the bubbles in the body. Aroma consists of toffee, a touch of caramel, slightly buttery, and grainy malt. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and soft. The malt flavor dominates the palate. Some caramel and a bit of graininess toward the back. Very slight grapefruit or citrus bitterness in the finish, that takes away some of the sweetness of the malt. Smooth and easy drinking yet this is a pretty average beer. Nothing really jumps out at you either.

The beer pours a clear light amber color with a moderate off-white head. The aroma is a bit weak, a bit of malt, hints of biscuit and bread, leaves a bit to be desired. The flavor is better than the aroma, moderately malty, biscuit and a bit nutty. The hop bitterness is low but combined with a slightly dry finish, provides nice balance. Overall an enjoyable offering.

Poured from a twelve ounce bottle.

Pours a dark straw with a nice sized off white head that leaves craggy clumps od soapy lace.

Aroma is similar to an English Pale. Mineral and caramel malt followed by herbal medicinal hops.

Flavor is sweet malt up front. Caramel and toasted bread with a hit of sweet dextrose. Hops come in the middle, enough bitterness, not much character but enough bitterness to cut the sweetness. Finishes dry with a substantial malt backing.

Mouthfeel is medium and the carbonation is usual for a bottled bitter, which is a bit higher than normal for the style.

Good beer, I would buy it again.

Reddish amber in color with scant lacing throughout.

Clean sweet malt aroma with very earthy scant hop. Moderate grainy sweetness. Smells like beer.

Sweet onrush of malty goodness. Mild fruityness like Cocoa Pebbles. Hop leaf bite with a pine finish.

Creamy and maybe buttery slickness. Finishes dry enough though. Carbonation is spectacular throughout.

I agree overall a nice BBQ drinking brew to be shared among many. Not something I would search out but would accept willingly.

A - Pours a very clear amber with a bunch of head that stuck through most of the beer.

S- By "all malt" they really mean it. The malt is absolutely overpowering.

T- The taste is....you guessed it all malt. Very sweet, some fruity flavors as well.

M/D - Mouthfeel is very thick and creamy. The rich mouthfeel hurts the drinkability a bit but it fits the profile.

12 oz. bottle poured into a cervoise glass

Pours a light golden amber capped with a two finger bright white head. Slightly above average retention, no lacing. Grassy hops, light almond, and a hint of caramel. Opens with grass, hay, hints of nuts and toffee midpalate. Finishes fairly crisp and clean. Light bodied, fairly slick with moderate, gentle carbonation. A solid, easy drinking English style pale ale. Very enjoyable.
