12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, black color with a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of oats, chocolate and toffee. Sweet chocolate and toffee taste with a mild bitterness.

Bottle has a new label but the same name listed here - seems like this is a post-rebrand beer.
Pours a dark brown almost black color. When held to the light it takes on a reddish appearance. Thin tan head dissipates quickly leaving a residual layer of tan foam on the beer.
Smell has notes of roasted malts, baker chocolate, nutty malts, licorice, touch of smoke.
Taste follows the nose with notes of charred and roasted malts, tobacco, licorice, a hint of smoke, all this is quickly overtaken by a strong bitterness. I believe too much for the style and certainly too much for my taste.
Feel is smooth, light and drinkable. Moderate carbonation. Smooth pretty dry almost ashy finish.
Overall this beer has a couple faults that if ironed out would really make this a very nice oatmeal stout. However the charred malts and bitterness are too much to ignore.

12oz bottle, no date, 6.5% ABV. Pours clear amber with a medium sized light tan head. Smells of sweet and roasted malt with some licorice, earthy hops, and oats. The taste follows exactly with sweet/roasted malt, licorice, earthy hops, and some oats. Below average taste/smell intensity. Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Thinner body for the style and above average carbonation. Overall, it's closer to a Porter in look/mouthfeel, but has an good smell/taste if you're okay with sweet licorice.

Pours dark brown, with a reddish tinge. One inch tan head that holds pretty well, with good lacing.
Smell is slightly off-putting for a stout, has a cloying sweetness mixed with a bit of smokiness. Smells more like a traditional porter than an oatmeal stout. Has a bit of an unfinished, homebrew-like sweetness in the aroma
Taste is a mix of roasted chocolate (maybe caramel) up front. There is a bit of sweetness but the acidic taste takes over in the end. Alcohol is well hidden. Body is medium, thinner than most oatmeal stouts. It's a pretty easy drinker.
Overall a perfectly drinkable beer, especially considering the abv, that needs a bit more balance in its roasted malts

Pours very dark brown to black with a thin bubbly head that fades to a ring. Spotted lacing sticks.
The smell is of chocolate and licorice.
The taste is of candy-like chocolate licorice - reminds me of a combo of chocolate and licorice Twizzlers and Tootsie Rolls. A bit of roast, but not enough to give much balance to the sweetness.
It is lighter-bodied, slightly watery, pretty smooth. Alcohol well-covered.
An oatmeal stout with a candy-like sweetness. And, it's a bit thin. Overall, for a sweeter, thinner oatmeal stout it's decent enough. But, with so many richer, better balanced ones out there, I doubt I would revisit this one.
