Not too good, it's stale dark roast, some bittersweet chocolatey flavor sand a bitter roast finish. I'm glad I only bought one, I didn't care for this beer. I'm not a huge porter guy but this just Isn't anything I'd go back to.

Pours out a hazelnut brown color, forming a deep chocolate bod with a beige head of 1/2 finger.

Aromas of roast malts, river water, chalk, and sour milk.

Basic roast malt profile, albeit stale; followed by chalk and unsweetned cocoa.

Feel is on the light side for a porter, but still within spec.

Overall, just a drain pour. It's not even a sad drain pour. Too chalky, too stale, too light bodied.

Pretty good stuff. Bittersweet, without being overly sweet. Which is a pleasant change these days. A bit roasty. Sort of going in the direction of Guinness. Easy drinking. Very nice finish.

With a very dark, cloudy brown, the aroma is effervescent dark chocolate and baker’s chocolate, along with the slightly astringent, but pleasantly sweet cocoa flavor. The mouthfeel is creamy smooth and it fits with the straight coffee aftertaste, as it starts to get slightly dry with time. This is very interestingly crafted, but I recommend the Chocolate Ale from Boulevard Brewing, Eugene Porter from Revolution Brewing, the Decadent Dark Chocolate Ale from Atwater Brewing as well as the Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewing Company. Other similar beers are the Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale from New Belgium Brewing and the Coconut Molasses Brown Ale from Duck Foot Brewing.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Decent retention and decent lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, slight alcohol, wood, slight roasted malt, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of an American Porter. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, roasted malt, alcohol, slight wood, slight hops, hint of smoke, and a hint of yeast. Overall, decent porter, but there is an underlying odd flavor (might be metallic), that is disconcerting.

Pours very dark brown to black. A tan head gives it an espresso-like appearance.

The smell is of chocolate, coffee, caramel, with a touch of earthy hop spice.

The taste is of roasted coffee (slightly on burnt side), some cocoa, hint of caramel, slight sour touch.
Dark malt sweetness comes to dominate the roast. Medium earthy hop spicing in the balanced finish.

It hits medium-bodied. Smooth.

A solid interpretation of a traditional American porter. Nice!

Aroma is dark/roasted malts, coffee and mild toffee. The flavor is roasted malts, toffee, chocolate, mild dark fruit and a mix of acidity and tart in the finish.
