Theres no suprise in the selection for such an out of the way place. This is an option just over the state line if you want something you can't get in OH but could in MI. Less than 30 minutes does make a difference. Selection of bottles as well as six packs is average but you can always find something you want and if you haven't had much from Michigan there are a few new things to try. They also order things for you if they don't have it at the time which is nice. It's a pretty tidy place. You have to get someone's attention if you want any help but they seem to know what there talking about. Also prices are higher than any other place I get beer. This is a good place to stop by and check out if your in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip. The sake selection is really good at least. This might even have more good liquor than joseph's. It's not a special beer place though.

I researched places in/around Toledo on a recent trip there and found this place. Dominantly wine and liquor but has better than average beers. The selection is a lot weaker than most places that get attention from this site but much better than the average BMC beer stores that litter this area. A few employees offered assistance and all were very nice. There store overall is a little on the dumpy/outdated side, but clean. I'd go again if time permitted on my next trip, but this is the store I'd skip if time is tight.

In Toledo for a family event. Beforehand, I checked with my local experts for the best place across the border, if you know what I mean.

Atmosphere: A large, warehouse-like store, Flick's is a one-stop shop. Liquor is dominant, with wine followed by beer. The beer is in the back of the store in coolers. There are scattered singles nearby.

Quality: Significantly everything is cold. Oh yeah, we passed displays for MSU, OSU, and UM. I almost gagged myself.

Service: Higher marks here. You'll never know it, but you can raid the sixpacks in the coolers for singles. I know only because I asked and didn't want to buy 10 different six packs. Second, the manager okayed ringing my mixed six packs up as sixpacks, rather than as individual bottles. I didn't even ask on that front, so I was pleased.

Selection: Decent selection. I was there for one reason: Shorts. And no, I was not disappointed. Outside of the brewpub, I'd never seen that much in one place. At least 8 different six packs, including a rye, the wedding ale, Nicie Spicie, Uber Goober, Spruce lager, and Autumn ale. I grabbed a six pack of Huma Lupa and filled two more six packs with a smattering of Shorts. And then I left a happy man. I did see other MI locals, significantly New Holland. Come for the Shorts though, especially if you are in Toledo.

Edit: I was a little ahrd on this place in my first review. I think they were out of a lot of Short's the first time I went and I sort of attacked other reviews in my old one. I also didn't realize the sixers could be mixed up and singles could be taken out, etc. This review, with revisions, is not so mean.

I went here for the first time yesterday. I couldn't believe that I hadn't made it out there yet when all I had to do was simply drive a ways out over the border to find certain MI beers that can't be found in Ohio. That this place had an A on here really sealed the deal for me.
I looked everywhere for the highly touted beer selection. The cooler was fairly large, filled with a mix of BMC and the good stuff. There was nothing from Founders that I couldn't get in Ohio. The beer section is an end cap of one of the wine shelves. My second time, though, I was able to find a lot more different stuff, Michigan-only in particular.
I did discover there's not a single craft beer that's not under $2.50 for a 12 oz. I look at the 750s because it's harder to tell if they're priced well or not. I discover 2 that are $4.99 everywhere I've ever been priced for $5.99. Maybe it's a Michigan thing. Are taxes on beer higher? I don't know.
Then I discover cans of Heineken, BL Lime, and every crappy $1 a can macro sitting on the shelf with a $2 price tag apiece.
I do have yet to experience particularly good customer service, but it's not terrible. The help was friendly, but I couldn't figure out where 6-pack holders and I couldn't get a straight answer, which was strange. That said, this place is a great liquor store. This place has a huge selection of wine and other liquors that's as good as or better than anyone's. This is the best (possibly only) place near Toledo for me to find anything from Short's, so I'll be going again.

Great neighborhood place! The two towns of Lambertville and Temperance make up the great little community of Bedford, Michigan. A great place to raise a family!

Flick's has been around for a long time. There commitment to quality and service is outstanding! The variety of craft beers is not huge by any means but for a small town it has what you need to get by in a pinch and a smile.

What I personally love about Flick's is that they carry the Michigan craft beers that you cannot get in Ohio; Dark Horse, Bells, Arbor, Arcadia, Jolly Pumpkin etc. I love my State and I love our beer and this is where I go to get them. They also have all variety of Unibroue 750 ML beers; La Fin Du Monde, Blanche De Chambly, Maudite, Trois Pistoles, Don De Dieu, Ephemere, Seigneuriale and Chamly Noire.

The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. If they don't have something they'll order it for you. They also have a large wine and booze selection, a deli, clever wrapped gifts for any occasion (alcohol packages) and kegs!

This place is a hidden gem! I got my first WWS from DFH here. I also found some bottles of DFH Golden Shower (the big bottle)... which I think is a couple years old... free aging! They also have a few Michigan beers I can't get in Ohio. I always stop in here when going by for work, and I have never failed to find something new. They also have a good selection of singles. The staff is really helpful and said they would order me whatever I wanted if I let them know before coming up next time. Given it is only about twenty minute roundtrip off of the highway, it's well worth the visit, especially for anyone from Ohio.
