Back to the roots: With Grevensteiner, Brauerei C. & A. VELTINS brings the venerable craft of brewing back to life - in the tradition of the twins Carl and Anton VELTINS at the beginning of the last century! The 100 year old lettering of the family brewery is emblazoned on the tankard. The bulbous ‘stubby’ bottle indicates to drinker that this is a beer through which solid brewing tradition comes alive. The historic ‘stubby’ bottle is the container with which the brewery C. & A. VELTINS has identified itself over decades. With a historic-looking label and a bottle cap that appeals, history lives on in a current product.

500 ml can into a large mug. Bottom dated 12/6/2017.
Appearance - Pours hazy copper in color with a moderate size off-white head> The head has good retention and leaves soapy lacing on the glass.
Aroma: dried hay, roasted nuts and toasted biscuits, with some herbal and floral aspects. Moderate strength.
Flavor: light baked bread, faint roasted nuts, subtle bread yeast, and herbal/floral hops. Light bitterness. Good balance of bready malt and light hop flavors.
Feel: Medium carbonation and body; fairly crisp.
Overall: a fine version of the style, particularly for one that has made its way to the USA.

Pours a golden amber color with a large white head on top. Has a sugary grainy smell to it. Something I’ve never smelled before. Tastes exactly how I expected it from smelling, a sugary lager.

16.9 oz can into a Becher glass.
L: Pours slightly murky med-dark amber with very good steady carbo bubbles, a thin off white head that goes to skin quickly with edge foam, light rhythmic lacing.
S: Sweet malts, a hint of bread, light fruits, brown bread crust, distant leather.
T: Lightly sweet malts, light raisin, plum, toasted cereal grains, some citrus zest in the finish. Fairly malty overall.
F: Lightly brisk then quite soft medium to medium-light bodied. Finish is fast, dry and crunchy but not parching.
O: A slightly full-flavored and gently fruity offering that is a little bit plump. Very soft overall with a touch of zest to round out the toasty malts. It is excellent in its style.

I had this on draft 8/15/23 @ Laschet's Inn.
Mostly opaque dull orange appearance.
Big off-white head; strong, frothy lacing remained.
Honey & soft grain notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Honeyed grain & spring water flavors.
Simple...but my, this was delicious & easy to drink. I'd love to have another!!

I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly was still surprised at how good of a lager this was...
Super easy drinking, it had a Boston Lager look without the Boston Lager malty smell. Mouthfeel was super smooth (I could down a sixer of these and not know it, and the tasted was mild, yet still very satisfying. A wonder German beer from a place that obviously knows how to make them...

From a 500 mL can, pours a cloudy light brown amber, with a three finger head. Sweet malt, bordering on caramel, and yeast on the nose. Taste wise, the same. Can't really detect any hops character. This one is all about the malt. Definitely finishes on the sweet side. Overall a tasty beer.

0,5l can with a bb date of 09.12.23
Snagged a can at the Kaufland. Absolutely absurd regular price of €0.99 for the pint. Pretty dark for the style but all the flavor and more. Surprisingly delicious. Great malt flavor and hearty feel with a tasty, yeasty finish.
