Pours a one finger white head that lasts leaving a good lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty/hoppy nose. Flavor is almost balanced leaning to hoppy, slight bitter finish. 330ml bottle 249 ISK ~ $2.99 Vínbúõin Hvolsvelli, Iceland. The name means earthquake - very appropriate for the country. From my notes - 7/22/2008.

Bottle, under Danish name "Skælv", at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg, ABV 5%. Deep golden colour, low head. Pleasant aroma of grapefruity American(?) hops and caramel. Fairly rich mouthfeel for a golden lager. The flavour has crystal malts and some caramel, noticeable American hops, but is not very bitter.

Bottle purchased at Scandinavia in Reykjavik, Iceland.
This pours a pretty light amber, with a small head, and no lacing.
Smells like caramel and bready malt, some piney and grassy hops, and grapefruit.
I'm not entirely sure what the style is here. There's definitely some malt sweetness, with a firm hop bitterness, and some fruity hoppiness. A little bit less caramel sweetness would make this great.
This is lighter bodied, crisp but a little slick, with a normal level of carbonation.
Not too bad, but a little confusing at times.

12oz bottle, served at Rauda Husio in Eyrarbakki, Iceland. Served in a tulip glass.
Pours a darker caramel body, orange hue, clear with a one finger white head, good retention, bits of lacing. Smells of light caramel sweetness, grassy and earthy hop aromas, mild cereal grain, a bit of citrus as well. Flavour is caramel, touch of citrus, grassiness, a bit of earth. Cereal grain. I thought it tastes a bit like Anchor, and I did not know this was a California Common. It is a bit sweeter. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, crisp and refreshing, good carbonation, and accompanied the lobster bisque entree quite well. Not a bad beer overall.
