Been meaning to stop by this place for a while, got a friend who lives in a nearby farm town.
Was served in a 20oz nonic glass.

A: is a dark- brownish-black color, cloudy, with a beige 1/4 inch head with good amounts of lacing.

S: Smells robust, chocolate, coffee, toffee, earthy tones, woody tones, smoky

T: Tastes pretty good, woody character, smoky feel, very chocolatey, toffee, coffee, barley, spices

M: Smoky feel, full bodied with medium carbonation, very rich, very pleasant

O: This a pretty good porter and it's got a cool name. I was paying cheap prices and was loving this stuff. If you ever find yourself in Milan, here is a place to swing buy and grab a few.

Tap at OG. The usual black/brown pour. Light tan head. Sticks to the glass ok.

Aroma, nice roast malt, chocolates, cocoa. Faintest coffee.

Taste matches well. Very smooth balance of roast malt, dark chocolate, cocoa. Slight earthiness. No harshness or bitterness.

Very smooth and creamy, yet on the lighter side of medium bodied. Goes down extreamly easy. Great session porter, best of the 3 I had.

A - Dark coffee brown, medium tan head that decreases to thin layer of a lighter tan head.

S - Rich dark coffee with a bitter sweet chocolate.

T - Well balanced Trio of chocolate, roasted malt, and bitterness. Just the right amount of richness and bitterness is achieved to complement the milky chocolate finish.

M - Heaver side of medium body feel. Bitterness that's followed by roasted milk chocolate.

D - My preferred way to drink this beer is while snacking on blueberries and/or strawberries. The sweetness of the fruit and the rich bitterness of the beer are a amazing combo.

A-Deep, dark brown with some ruby highlights. A light tan head starts strong and reduces to a thin cap and leaves spotty lace.

S-A healthy dose of roast and chocolate...enough roast to make my wife exclaim WOW!

T-Smooth roasted malt and backing bitterness from the malt and the earthy hops.

M-Medium body with a full smooth feel. Good lingering bitterness and chocolate flavour.

D-A really nice, solid, all day drinking beer. Plenty of flavour without ever becoming too heavy.

On tap; served in a pint glass. At Red Rock Downtown Barbecue in Ypsilanti, MI.

Appearance: The beer is an opaque black brown in color. The foam had subsided into a ring by the time the glass reached the table.

Aroma: Sweet malt with no hops presence.

Taste: Followed the aroma pretty much: Malty with only a subtle hops flavor. Black coffee and bitter chocolate with some sweetness to balance.

Mouthfeel: The beer has a medium body. Carbonation is at a medium light level.

Overall: This beer goes well with BBQ. As noted above, it is more sweet and malty rather than hoppy which is fine with me as I like the malty end of the spectrum. The waiter said that this is one of their "stock" beers. I will look for it again on my next visit to Red Rock and plan to visit OG in the near future.
