This place advertises a lot on billboards and the radio in NE Arkansas, so I thought I'd finally stop in and check it out. It's part of a combo lotto sales/country restaurant/convenience store type place. I did manage to find the good beer section in the back corner and found they had some good stuff (good being a relative term, but in this part of the country, it's a beer desert). They have a good selection from Sam Adams, Leinenkugel's, New Belgium, Rogue, and Goose Island. Lots of foreign stuff, especially Unibroue. They also have about 30 different kinds of European six-packs. The guy was just unpacking a bunch of stuff he said was brand new - I was surprised to find, and picked up, some Old Rasputin, as well as a big bottle of Rogue Imperial IPA. I also saw some bombers of Rogue, Delirium Tremens, and a bunch of sixers I didn't recognize. Some pretty choice finds for the middle of nowhere - I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood.

As far as service, BOTH times I've been there, the conversation at the register has been like this.
Lady: What the hell is this?
Me: Uh, beer.
Lady: Well I ain't never seen this.
Me: *pointing* Well you've got a bunch of it over in the corner.
Lady: This here beer says it has CHOCOLATE, ewww! (or similar disparaging remarks)
And then, both times, the knowledgeable younger guy who I assume ordered all of the non-Bud Light beer stepped in and saved me, assuring the lady it was indeed beer, and that he liked it. So, you may end up getting an interrogation or having to explain that beer comes in bottles too.

But there's some good stuff to be found here. The bottom line, considering this area can be a beer desert, is that the selection at Mr. T's is worth the drive, even from Arkansas.

Ok this like said before is a state line lotto and cheap cigeratte and beer joint , its huge , full of all the BMC and old crow drinkers scratching off their lotto tickets a while smoking their dorals.

But at the end of the beer cooler and on the shelf adjacent is the best and freshest selection of beer in north east Arkansas and the boothill of Missouri. The beer guys working there are helpful , always there to ask if you need help , ask if there is anything you want and if they can get it they will do their best to get it.

Lots of Belgiums on hand , Founders , Schalfly , Rogue , Stone, Bell's , O'dells and lots of other craft brewers and even pick a six now with a nice fresh selection. I even saw a couple bottles of Firestone Walker on hand

First let me clarify the exceptional rating on selection. This is far from a craft beer mecca, but in the beer desert that is the bootheel of Missouri and northeast Arkansas, this is the go-to place. Like other reviews have said, it's pretty much a lotto-cigs-n-go type of place that happens to stock a lot of booze and beer.

I'm not one to usually remember brands that I see, especially when there is more than a few sixers to pick from, but I notice Founders, Bear Republic, Sierra Nevada, Odell, Ska, and a few others from the Colorado area that I forget now. Of course they also keep a good stock of Boulevard and Schlafly (Missouri brewed stuff). An entirely seperate cooler of imports as well.

Every time I go in someone ends up asking me if I need help, probably because I'm standing in one area looking lost as I try to make up my mind, but I'm always left convinced that if I really needed help of the craft beer nature, I'd probably be out of luck. As amazed that I am that this place carries craft beer at all, I'm equally impressed, so no complaints at all.

Mr. T's Riverside is my go-to for buying beer around the house. Their selection is constantly growing, especially since Arkansas got the lotto and they need something else to draw customers in.

The quality of selection, as mentioned earlier, is constantly expanding. They have a good selection of American crafts: Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada(including Wet Hop Harvest Ale), Schlafly, Founder's, New Holland, Avery, Rogue, Boulevard, North Coast, a few Bell's, Ommegang, and many more.

They have a seperate fridge for the Belgians: Duvel, Delirium Tremens, Delirium Nocturnum, Delirium Noel, Chimay red, blue, and white, Trappistes Rochefort 6,8, and 10, Konings Hoeven, Westmalle trippel,

They will often have gift packs of beers with glasses and also have a mix your own sixer upfront that will often have beers being sold at nearly half their normal price. Its usually 8 bucks to mix a sixer and last time i went they had EKU 28 on the shelf which is usually 15 a sixer!

As far as service, everyone is as nice as can be, but the checkout process is pretty lame. I don't like how there is one line for 4 registers. The staff is not very informed on beer. I had to convince a worker that beer can indeed expire. However, I have put in requests before and they have met my demands. Duvel and Celbrator are a couple that they now stock year round as a result of this.

I love Mr. T's and see the brew selection only getting better as they attempt to draw more customers.
