The Ravenous Pig is one of the best restaurants in Orlando for food. However they do have a pretty good beer selection....for Orlando. The bar is rather small but a great place to have a brew. The food is beyond terrific.

Overall a big fan of this place. In town for business. Great vibe and friendly atmosphere. Surpisingly busy for a Tuesday night, must be good.

The food definitely lived up. The fish (cobia) was quite tasty. The popcorn (instead of beer nuts), was great. The draft selection is limited but a good variety. Half of the 8 draft selections were from Cask & Larder (sister restaurant apparently). It would be good to have a little more variety. Of the 3 beers I tried (2 from Cask & Larder), I was pleased with all.

Bar tenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back.

O....M....G very impressed when I visited this place. Admittedly, I was VERY grouchy in the beginning due to the fact that the hostesses responded "the restaurant area is all booked up for the rest of night, but you are welcome find a seat in the bar". Now, do not get me wrong - I love the bar area of restaurant a lot, but with this gastropub it was "first to be pushy enough to sit in a seat, first served". I wish they would have had a more orderly process for getting a seat in the overcrowded bar as I felt I had to be very pushy to finally get a seat in the bar. Enough of the critiques and onto the praise. The food could not have been better and more original. I loved every bit of it. They also feature about 6 craft beers on a regular basis. These stay the same to a great degree, but they will switch some out from time to time. I picked the Lost Coast Great White (yeah I know not the best choice) and it was pretty good. Next time I will be going for the Ommegang Hennepin Saison or the Smuttynose Finest Kind. Really great place. Little bit pricey, but worth the dollar or two more you will pay over Olive Garden prices for food that is 1000 times better.

PS: MAKE RESERVATIONS. Cannot stress this enough. Will save a lot of headaches when you get there.

Upon entry I felt like it was a restaurant created just for my tastes. It appeared to be a trendy restaurant, however, where one would expect to see wine glasses amongst the white table cloths, you actually saw beer glasses.

We had to sit at the bar, but received excellent service. The bar tender was attentive but not over bearing, and was knowledgeable about all beers on tap. When I asked a question she did not know the answer to, she was able to get the info quickly from one of the other staff members. She informed me that they had a rotating tap selection, and only stocked micro brews. Tonight they had Terrapin, Lost Coast, Bells, Brooklyn, and Cigar City represented. They also had two Cigar cities in bottle. By no means a large selection but in this caste it was quality over quantity.

The "Pork Porterhouse" blew me away it was the perfect balance of smoky, salty, with a hint of sweet. It was cooked to a medium temp maintaining its juiciness. On the side was beans and collard greens which were delicious.

In the end the meal ended up being a little pricey with desert thrown in, but the quality of the food matched the price in the end. I will definitely be eating here again.

I have to admit that I was a bit disappointed by the Pig. Lots of promise, so-so delivery.

Atmosphere: Upscale restaurant feel with a little more laid back bar area.

Quality: Pretty good quality craft beers available.

Service at the bar was good, but nothing special.

Selection was a little more limited, but a good handful of quality choices.

Food: Probably where I was most disappointed. I order the Roasted Suckling Pig with diced sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts. The pig was over cooked so it was a little tough and dry in places. The brussel sprouts were under cooked so they were still tough and very bitter. When I got bites where everything was cooked right it was very good, but that was more chance than normal.

I would definitely give it another chance, but if I got the same fare I probably would not go back.

I love the Ravenous Pig. Recently they hosted a Stone Beer Dinner, right after Stone started distributing in Florida, and the pairings were excellent. Even on a regular night, the Ravenous Pig is a great place to go if you want a nice meal AND some nice beer to go with it. Too many restaurants think that wine is the only thing to drink with a good meal and I love that Ravenous Pig takes it in the other direction. The beer is moderately priced and, while their main menu is a little pricey, they have a "pub fare" menu that has some relatively inexpensive, but still delicious, entrees to complement your beer.

I love this place! I've been to the RP a couple of times for lunch and once for dinner. The lunch menu seems to be fairly stable, but the dinner menu changes more dramatically each day. Although exciting in many ways, the ever-changing dinner menu is also my one semi-frustration with this place. You pretty much need to make reservations prior to eating dinner here, yet you don't know what will be on the menu that particular night until something like 3-4pm that day. To be honest, I totally appreciate having a changing menu depending on what's available to the chef each day, but it is a bit tough on the customer. I've had reservations here, but then got the night's menu and nothing appealed to any of us so we canceled. Yet, the night we finally ate there, everyone thought the food was superb and couldn't wait to eat there long as the menu sounded good. Like I said previously, the lunch menu is more stable. I would highly recommend the Pub Burger with truffle fries. I've had this twice and can't wait to get it again the next time I'm in town for lunch. Did I mention the pig makes everything from scratch including the condiments? I love their BBQ sauce with the burger. Yum! Beer is used as an ingredient in some of the dishes/desserts too. Switching back to dinner...the dinner menu is more unusual and gourmet (although I think many of the lunch items might also be available at dinner time.) Anyway, the four of us ordered a number of different salads, appetizers, entrees, and desserts, and they were all excellent. In fact, one family member just told me this week, "hey, we REALLY need to try and eat at that Ravenous Pig again when we're down there later this month". I agreed.

Well, it's time to mention some beer in this review. I've had some great tap brews at The RP including: fresh/killer Bell's Two-Hearted (more than once), Brooklyn Brewmaster's Reserve Abbey, Hebrew Origin (much better than I figured), and Orlando Brewing Eagle Stout. There have been some others I can't quite remember right now, plus...I know the RP has had some ultra-rare stuff like Bell's Hopslam on tap. The RP has around 8 taps with a few being somewhat stable and the others rotating. The main beer-guy at RP (very beer-savvy) does a great job of bringing in new/quality brews, and this place seems to shine with brews which are always in their best/cleanest/freshest condition. The Pig is certainly one of the best places to find quality brews on tap in the Orlando area...and one of the few (if not only) places which also has top-notch food to accompany the high-quality beer. The RP has also been known to put on a special beer/brewery/food-pairing night. Check it out!
