Great staff and while location is not as authentic as the old bayou location the food has held up well. Been visiting since 1996 when Joe and Stephane were there. Saw many great cajun bands and attended many festivals . Tap list represents local breweries plus New Orleans favorites like Abita Turbo Dog, Miss the special events like the owners Breakfast Fry Ups and private tastings .It may not be New Orleans per say but it s a solid recreation of the food. Both of our last visits the waitresses, sisters were excellent and the hostess was very polite.

Great calm location next to a river. Selection of nice Florida beers and some outsiders. Supernice service. Great cajun food. Best place if you like a mellow vibe without the crowds.

Great food, good prices, cool location. Love the Florida-only tap list. The owner is an amazing supporter of the craft-beer community and puts on the very best beer festivals!

I just got back from the Sour, Lambic, and Berliner Weiss Festival held at the Cajun Café. The place was fun; great patio with huge stage for music, dock and tables right by the water, tons of parking, and really nice atmosphere. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. They had people walking around with snacks for us to enjoy, and the food served was damn good too! Not sure what all they had to offer for full menu and beer selection; but it was a great place to host that sour fest. Super fun.

This is a hidden gem. You need to find out about this place via word of mouth, or one of the many online review sites. You probably would not drive by and say "We MUST stop there"
It looks almost like an old drive in movie theater. It's set pretty far back from the road, kind of in a shack looking building, but there is much more that lies behind it's appearance.
The beer selection is really nice...maybe it doesn't rotate all that often, it's a wide selection of Florida brews. They have twelve taps and only pour Florida beers, which I really appreciate. The beer is served in small plastic cups, but it adds to the atmosphere as you sit on the deck and watch catfish feed and possibly a dolphin or two swim by. I had Zhukov on tap, which I did not see ANYWHERE in my travels, so it tells me that the owner puts his time in.
Speaking of the owner, we were fortunate to meet and actually hang out with Paul a few times during our stay in the Tampa area. He's an amazingly generous individual who is passionate about the beer scene in Florida, and loves doing it. He holds beer fests 3 times a year at this location, and it sounds like he is doing it well. Offering some really nice beers to people who may not be able to try them otherwise.

The food was amazing...Just wanted to comment on that as well, absolutely amazing. Authentic flavors, the cornbread was fantastic. Big props to Paul, keep up the good work, and keep fighting the good fight!

Cajun Cafe on the Bayou doesn't look like much from the road, but once you get inside you'll know why you're there. Like those who commented before me have stated, the atmosphere is comfortable with seating both inside and out. The beer selection is great. Some before me have said that the selection seems rather static, but that is because the beers on tap pair extremely well with the food you order, and the food here is fantastic. I would rate it a 10.0 if BA would let me. From a starter of their crawfish cornbread moving to an entree of the blackened gator burger or the crawfish lagniappe and finishing it off with their whiskey bread pudding, I leave fatter and happier than than when I get up from the table after a Thanksgiving feast.

I definitely recommend a visit whether you're a local or just in the area.

Finally got my wife her seafood fix. After hearing good thing's about cajun cafe we have wanted to come here ever since. Very laid back atmosphere. We got seating on the deck and had a very nice time out there. Nats were a bit of a problem but heh we were sitting outside on a body of water in Florida. The server was new and didn't really know too much about the beer selction. He was however very freindly and aproachable and seemed to know the menu. I grabbed a pint of sculpin but it was poured into a plastic cup. Some points off for that. The food was good but the portions were small and expensive for what you got. I mean for the signature bread which is made with crawfish and jalepenos is no bigger than two slices of bread. I know quality not quanity but come on man. Again my wife's crab cakes and my jabalaya were undersized and overpriced. It is not bad food the quality is there.I just don't believe it should cost that much for something seems so much cheaper to make.

Anyway onto the beer. Very good selection and quite an impressive bottle list. It seems I could make this a nice fall back spot but it is a bit of a drive for me. All and all a decent experience.

It looks pretty small on the outside, but there's plenty of seating inside. It's not fancy, but has a nice cozy feel.

The beers, we ordered from the tap list, came in appropriate glasses with nicely poured heads.

The service was a little slow, but the waiter was super helpful in helping us make our selections.

15 taps with craft beer and over kinds in 40 bottles. I was amused to note that big brand beers like Bud were thrown at the bottom of the beer menu in a group like an afterthought.

The food was tasty and done just right with spicy Cajun flavor.

Cajun Café on the Bayou is probably my favorite place in the Tampa Bay area! The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the beer is great! I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good cajun food and craft beer!!! It is next to The Wagon Wheel Flea Market on Park. It looks fun and it is! The Cajun Café is more of a restaurant then a beer bar, so go hungry and try pairing the beer with the food. The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Don't miss the beer fest.

Went to their annual beer fest on 11/7 and decided to stay for dinner. Located right by the Wagon Wheel flea market on Park blvd. We ate on the outdoor patio overlooking the creek. Very good atmosphere out there kinda get the feeling your on the bayou! Was a little buzzed from the beer fest(they had a keg of DFH 120) but I think I counted 15 taps, and would guess around 50 bottles. Good place to go if your a fan of Rouge they must of had ten different selections from them. Wonderful atmosphere, great service and great beer selection. Its hard to believe that a resturant in this area has only crafts on tap. The food is very good and very authentic (gator burgers, crawfish and frog legs) they have hamburgers for the non adventurist.

Cajun Cafe has figured out what should be obvious to restaurant owners, but is frequently overlooked - and that is, that craft beer goes well with food. Paul, the owner, has put together a well thought out tap list as well as a great selection of bottles to go with some of the best Cajun food I've had this side of New Orleans.

The place exudes atmosphere - while there you would swear you were sitting by a Louisiana bayou eating crawfish and jambalaya while sipping on a Great Divide Pale Ale. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices are very fair, particularly considering the excellent food quality.

Cajun Cafe also hosts a fantastic Craft Beer Fest every Fall, the next one scheduled for 11/7. This is a not to be missed event, and I, for one, will be there enjoying excellent food, the great atmosphere, all combined with some of the best craft beer in the area.

What can you say about the Cajun Cafe? It doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside it has a very comfortable atmosphere, with a decent amount of tables on the water (a creek) where you can enjoy some damn good cajun food and a few beers while watching a few dozen catfish flop around in the water. They've got roughly 60 bottles-mostly American micros- and 15 taps that don't change very often. The few times I've gone the service has left something to be desired, but I always like talking to the owner, Paul, a beer lover who is always eager to halp you with your next selection. They aren't open very late, and are even closed two days a week. However, this cozy little place is a great spot to enjoy a few beers.
