Poured this into my lovely Pils Urquell Rastal stemed action, just to capture that thick chunky head. Deep dark orange pour, perfect top. Malt dominated smell, very inviting. This dominates on the taste, very smooth and drinkable, the maltiness is the dominate taste, but you still get some bitter hops. One of the better malty pale ales out there, these guys are fast becoming one of the better breweries in the LA area without getting sucked into the over the top hoppiness scene, good stuff...need to get back down there for more.

This pours a somewhat dark golden color with a pretty high amount of carbonation and a medium foamy white head. The smell is faintly fruity with notes of orange, pineapple, and a slight bready scent. The taste is actually not nearly as fruity as the scent led me to believe. There are very slight flavors of orange and lemon, but for the most part a bready malt flavor takes over. It has surprisingly low hop character for a California American pale ale, but there are very slight pine notes also. It has a nice body and a very crisp, but not dry finish. This is a definitely a solid pale ale. Nothing too crazy going on here, but this would make a great summer session beer. I had never tried this brewery before, but now I’m interested to see what they would do with a more interesting style of beer.

Pours a nice orange gold with a lacey white head. Aroma and flavors aren't terribly complex...some grapefruit pith, earthy hops, and generic piney flavors with a hint of caramelly malt. Mouthfeel is medium bodied. A passable pale ale.

Decent pale ale. Citrusy notes make it refreshing but it is not too flavorful. It is a pretty good summer beer. I think it it had more hops character to it it would be better
