On-tap at Bootlegger's

A pilot batch from Bootlegger's. A cream ale clocking in at 7.3% ABV with some lactose and vanilla beans added.

A: The pour is a nice golden yellow color with a thin white head on it.

S: The vanilla is really powerful and comes through more than anything else. It is quite dominant, to be honest. There is some lightly toasted malt aroma and a good sweetness as well.

T: Once again, the primary flavor is the vanilla. It's quite sweet (helped along by the lactose), and has really nice vanilla favor that contrasts nicely with the light hop bitterness and a bit of toasted, bready malts.

M: The body is substantial for the style with a moderate level of carbonation.

D: Cream ales are usually a pretty "blah" style, but I really enjoyed this one. Great vanilla flavor and a good sweetness that was balanced.
