Style: American IPA
Alcohol by volume (ABV): 7.20%
Availability: Rotating
Notes / Commercial Description:
The Galaxy hops from Australia give it a funkadelic tropical fruit aroma, and the balance between the malt and hops is wicked. You’ll want to bogart this one because every sip keeps you wanting more, and at 7% alc by vol, this IPA will have you talking jive in no time. It’s going to be difficult not to dig this beer, because it’s far out, man.

Thanks to @2beerdogs for the chance to sample this West Coast gem.
Aroma: Very bright lemony hop aroma up front. Fresh melon and mango notes. Clean fermentation character.
Appearance: Hazy amber pour with pale yellow edges. A lot white head retains well.
Flavor: More lemon and melon flavors. Low caramel sweetness. Firm pithy grapefruit-like bitterness. Balance is to the bitter. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with high carbonation. Slightly oily. No alcohol heat.
Overall impression: A dry and crisp IPA. Full tilt West Coast. Big and tropical. Well done!

Poured from the bottle into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
A bright orange amber body color, tangerine to apricot in appearance, with a little bit of thin carbonation, through a somewhat clear and thick body. Head is off white and three fingers tall, with very soapy retention. A real nice shiny glass and appearance, with some lacing.
Subtle tropical aromatics of hop on the nose, somewhere between mango and pineapple and a bit of woody pine. Some vanilla sweetness comes in a bit. All of it nice and subtle. Quite a good bouquet.
Pretty solid palate with a real nice juiced mouthfeel. Hints at a little bit of brown sugar and syrup but considerably lighter with the hop tropical juiced angle. Some surprising faint toasty notes of white bread and bakery sweetness, both in the mid palate and on the finish. Much good tropical juiced action, and a good balance between minimal sweetness and bitterness.
Solid IPA.
