A- Brown/Pumpkin pie color.

S- A strong malty smell came to mind quick with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. A pumpkin pie smell is definitely there, but not as great in comparison to others.

T- Very comparable to drinking a pumpkin pie, except with the added bonus of a very malty taste. Great hints of nutmeg and cinnamon.

M- Nicely carbonated with a great feel for the alcohol and flavors to take in the pallet.

D- I thought the beer was good, although I was going in that night expecting to drink Pumking. Would not be the first pumpkin ale I would recommend, but it is up there to dabble on.

Serving type: on-tap

Wow...what a beer! My hat's off to Crown Brewing on this one.

My favorite Pumpkin Ale is Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale (now followed very closely by this beer). Crown Brewing's Pumpkin Ale is pretty comparable to Schlafly's; I was impressed. Both have similar flavor and sweetness.

If you don't like beer that's pretty sweet I'd have a taste of it first, this pumpkin ale is more sugary than other types of beer.

It has a nice spice aroma and taste that really makes you feel like fall is here. So long as this beer goes on tap each year, I'll have no problem with summer ending; that's how good it is!

In 2010 they sold out of it in 9 days!!!

This year I was told at the brewery that they intend to keep it on tap all the way until November since it was such a hit!

To top it off they were serving pieces of pumpkin pie when I was in there a week ago. So grab yourself a glass of Crown Brewing's Pumpkin Ale & a piece of pumpkin pie. Cheers and enjoy the fall harvest!

Had on tap....

A- Poured a pumpkin pie color in a glass. One and a half finger off white head shows medium retention. Sticky web lacing on the sides of the glass.

S- Clean smelling pumpkin bready aroma in the front. Nutmeg and cinnamon come in next with some more bready malts in the middle. Allspice kind of rolls this beer altogether in the aroma making it really smell like a pumpkin pie.

T- Nice spices right off the front with a hint of the bready from the malts. A light pumpkin flavor toward the middle of the beer with some sweet malts come into play. Cinnamon and nutmeg come toward the end of the beer which fills up and balances as a whole.

M- Medium mouthfeel. Carbonation is good for the style and works well with the beer. Pumpkin spices last on the palate and long into the aftertaste. Alcohol not really drying much on the palate. Flavors were well balanced and crisp.

D- The beer itself is good. The pumpkin flavor in this one really comes through. Crown has been a hit and miss with me and this one comes through. The ABV on this beer makes it very drinkable with pints being kicked back easy.
