The beer is described as a blonde doppelbock. It is my personal favorite offering from Crown; one that I was they would bottle so I could enjoy it year-round.
Served in a snifter glass on the first day of its released in 2013, the beer was a copper color with a slight white head. The lacing on the glass was generous, demonstrating a solid level of retention. In the aroma, one detects wheat and a certain measure of banana. In the initial taste, one notes banana, chewy wheat, malt, raisin, and mildly spicy effect. Sweeter malts come through in the finish, making this a bright beer for a dreary day. Tart banana notes also come through in the finish. The thickness allows the chewy sweetness to linger nicely. This is the beer that caused me to fall in love with doppelbock. It is sweet, tasty, and filling in a way that monks would approve.
